Enjoying your channel, especially Ford Friday’s. Anorak fact… Peugeot makes its own shock absorbers, it doesn’t buy them from suppliers

From the rear the 304 estate looks very similar to the Austin Maxi. Very much competitors with one another and also the Renault 16. I really like the trapezoidal (?) headlamps of this and other Peugeot models of the era.

I think that the Peugoet 305 was a big improvement.

Just look at those squishy, comfy, orange seats - wonderful! Looks like the SL was quite a step up than the GL. I know nothing about these, but they are quite appealing nowadays as a rare, useful, classic. I think the Citroen GSA would have been a better bet, back then.

My first car was an orange Peugeot 204 Estate on an N plate which had the updated 1127cc engine which found it's way to the 304 with a larger capacity. It was similar to a Mini in layout with the gearbox below the transverse engine sharing the oil and front wheel drive. The body was essentially the same as the 304 but had a different front end with oval headlights. Styling was by Pininfarina so the similarity with the Austin Maxi can be seen as BMC used Pininfarina for many of it's designs at the time. It was very comfortable and had a nice gear change and felt spacious I remember. Thanks for the video. 👍🏼

Ah" i remember seeing these around in 1970's & 80's : and the legendary ultra 504 also) i remember a neighbour of my late grandparents had a black 504 in with wiñd back sunroof: tan interior and auto gearbox. I remember they also had a 304 in light green metallic. Thanks for uploading.

I just discovered your channel yesterday. I love brochure reviews and really enjoyed watching your videos. I'm from The US and familiar with cars that were not sold here so it's awesome to see things in detail. I look forward to viewing the others. Thanks again!!👍

Ps. I have also owned 2 Peugeot 305 cars myself in 1989 and 1991 both with petrol engines: quite nice to drive and economical: you could buy them very cheap at the time.

I don't remember the Peugeot 304 being sold in Australia. The Japanese had pretty much cornered the market for cars of that engine size. Having not seen one before, my first impression is of a shrunken version of the 404 Estate. It's true that by 1980, they looked dated, but I'm sure they would have been a good car at a bargain price.

Thanks for showing 3 different estate wagons, i always like Peugeot cars but i reckon Renault is like Japanese wagons n Citroën definitely one.

This would have been a sensible purchase from the head. Call it nostalgia, but in those days, even the most mundane of cars had something about them. God knows, the older I get, even the Austin Allegro is starting to look good.

It’s just how I am thinking - amazing how nostalgia effects things.
