Bought this tent from you last year. I'm a novice camper but found it excellent in every way. So simple to put up an down and loads of space for one. Cosier for two but I love it.

Thanks for the review. We are going to get this tent to accommodate me and girl and our dog for the coming autumn.

@crowkrow Hi, for two person, it is perfect. We really love this tent. However, the vestibules are not big enough for dogs. Our dog is a Shiba Inu, much smaller than the retriever. In the end, our dog stayed in the car everytime we went camping.

Hey Paul, Between the Abisko View, Abisko Lite, and Abisbo Dome; which do you like for Summer/Fall with maybe some wind/rain. I am really liking the View, but I don't know how it is in weather. Have you used it? The Lite gets a lot of great reviews. I have a Hilleberg Staika for winter, but that tent is overkill and heavy for backpacking in summer and fall. Thoughts? Thanks! Chuck
@trekitt
@trekitt 4 года назад
All three will be absolutely fine for three season use below the treeline, however, the Abisko Lite and Dome are four season rated, so will be able to withstand more severe conditions. Unless you're heading out in the middle of a Scandinavian winter though, all three will be more than tough and weather-resistant enough to cope with some wind and rain thanks to their exceptional build quality. The benefit of the Dome is that it has masses of internal room, plus is the easiest to pitch of the three. The Lite is the lightest and most compact, so arguably the most suitable for backpacking. The View is ideal when you want a little more luxury and may be stationary for a day or two at a time; the fold-back vestibules really are brilliant when you're cooking or just admiring the view. I hope that helps! Kind regards, Harry.

@@trekitt Thanks Harry! I actually decided to get the view. I have my Hilleberg Staika for HARSH end of the world conditions but wanted something lightweight and breathable for hot summer use. I should be arriving any day now. I went with the green color. Please subscribe to my channel is you guys can; I do a lot of FJ reviews as well. :) Thanks!!!! Chuck

i’m interested in this tent but the full mesh inner doors put me off a little. Obviously the UK isn’t the warmest of places, how is this tent in a cold wind at night? Does the wind come through the mesh doors or is the outer close enough to the ground to reduce this?
@trekitt
@trekitt 6 лет назад
Hi, The Absiko View is essentially a lightweight, warmer weather tent and you are correct to assume that it will be colder inside compared to a tent with solid inner doors. It is not just the doors that are mesh, the entire internal sleeping compartment (excluding the floor) is of a mesh construction so even though the outer will shield out the worst of the wind the inner environment will be very hard to heat up. Instead, I would recommend the MSR Hubba Tour 2, it features a solid internal construction with solid and mesh inner doors, entry front and back, it's cheaper, still sleeps 2, it's only 40grams heavier when you compare the "maximum weights" of the 2 tents and it has a more space. Not only that, the porch has a mesh door to help protect you from any flying, biting bugs that might want to use your tent as shelter from the wind and rain. The Hubba Tour 2 ticks all the boxes for me. www.trekitt.co.uk/33728/products/msr-hubba-tour-2-tent-green.aspx If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask. Kind regards, Will

@@trekitt this is not correct. The inner topside/roof is not mesh. It is terrible when sellers does not know the equipment they sell.

Hello 👋 great tent. But Fjallraven Abisko View 2 Tent has been discontinued, and is no longer available.
@trekitt
@trekitt 4 месяца назад
Whilst we don't currently have stock of the View 2, it is still available for sale direct through Fjallraven as well as a number of other retailers. They do have a newer model landing very soon which might also interest you, the Abisko Friluft 2 www.trekitt.co.uk/sleep-shelter/tents/fjallraven-abisko-friluft-2-pine__55490

Whay are your thoughts about a ground sheet for a tent like this?

A worthy investment! It's much easier to replace a damaged groundsheet than a damaged tent floor. Harry

Fjällräven do make some excellent(if high-priced) gear. Looks like a great tent. You state that this is a 3-season tent design. Would you say the Abisko View 2 is durable & stable enough to be resistant to high altitude winds, has a relatively small footprint & would be light enough to cope with Mountain base-camp use in the depths of Winter? If not. Then, which 4-season alternatives would you suggest? Very helpful review Paul. Thanks. Bobby
@trekitt
@trekitt 7 лет назад
Hi, although the Fjallraven gear is incredible in terms of durability and overall features, none of their tents are designed for high altitude. A lot are rated 4 season, however this is more Scandinavian Trekking rather than mountaineering. Our recommendation of tents depends on where you're going too. For general mountaineering above snowline, MSR produce two options for you, the Remote and the Access. We don't stock these tents, however they're our best recommendation. Terra Nova also produce a tent called the Quasar which is highly comparable. If you have any further questions, your best bet will be to give our shop a ring (01432 263335) or email sales@trekitt.co.uk, this way we can ask further questions such as where you're going, to what altitude and for how long. Regards, Harry.

For the best tents in the world, from everything from mountaineering to trekking, I'd suggest you take a look at Hilleberg tents. se.hilleberg.com/EN/?language=EN Hopefully that leads you to the English page. Good luck :) Rasmus

That mesh looks fragile.
@trekitt
@trekitt 4 года назад
Not massively fragile, but as with all lightweight materials you've just got to be careful.
@stalwart263
@stalwart263 3 года назад
It’s pretty solid to be fair. It is a 3 season tent, not a 4. I am not worried about the fragility of the mesh. It is after all made by one of the best tent manufacturers in the world.

This the least versatile tent I seen ! The angle of the walls is so steep that if its open the rain will get in, so that special, fully open, feature of the wall is useless, even in a light summer shower..
