it never ceases to amaze me that people will put videos like this up thinking that we want to see how they built their cargo trailer. The truth is, we do. Usually because we have a cargo trailer ourselves and what ideas to help us build it. What we want to do is to compare what you've done to what we want to do with our trailer and it ideas. What I'm amazed with is how few people will tell us the size of their trailer so we can compare what they've done with our available space.

This is how my husband and I are planning to retire, in a cargo trailer conversion. I really like the faux brick! I think I would paint some of the bricks if not all of them but still, it's different from what everyone else is doing. We have 2 large dogs and I like the setup you have for yours. Thanks for the great ideas and sharing it!
Starting my build shortly. Just picked up a 2020 6x12 that I'm making into a toy hauler. I'll be doing a Murphy Bed like that as well so I can drive my quad in the back. Great use of space. Nice build.
if you use a storage tub to stand in with a shower curtain to divert water back into tub, and run your sump into the bottom, just add a water filter and you can take a shower for an hour on as little as 1/2 gallon of water. its called the "hour shower". im building one. but you may have access to plenty of creeks around there. water is such a big problem for many when trying to stay out for longer periods of time. great setup. im building my second trailer now
@@mastiffsrme hi heidi, ive kinda put my building on hold. i kept making so many changes that i was tearing things out over and over! waste of money and time. but ill still build a shower. that hour-shower is a viable option. but i may just get a metal sprinkler pale that i can heat on a stove and then hang from the ceiling. with a built-in cabinet/tub and curtin. im trying to focus on lightweight options and as always less is more. less water pumps, less piping, less, less!

I gutted an old prowler camper and used that same white paneling inside. Am happy with it. I like the look of the brick paneling you used. That is unique.

Great idea for your shower.....but, how about, putting a cover on the bucket (they close pretty tight too) the put a small whole on the top... then push your waterline through it.....ALSO, please put a strap on that water bucket AND on your propane tank.... please be careful...

I saw a guy put all the utilities, heater, propane in the front v then cut a hole in the floor for ventilation. I really want to build a cargo trailer conversion but don't have a lot of building skills.
Hi Great build. Have you ever thought of having an overhang attached to the back of the trailer so when you drop the tail ramp you can push up and overhang attached to the top of the of the rear of the trailer. Acting as a shed roof then screening the whole thing in?? You could be adding a couple of square feet of room to the whole place. or even a covered area too cook.

Nice build, would love to know how you did your electrical box and another vid on your solar system. We're getting one that will be wired with 2 outlets but no electrical box and would like to add more outlets and a breaker box.
Not to be rude but the placement of the showers and the exposed boxes is only things I'm not crazy about. I like everything else. What about a L type in the front that could then be your end of bathroom( the bottom of the L) Your kicked sink and maybe some cabinet and a area to house your boxes? just a idea.
no mind the propane pansies. as long as it is held down tight, you are good. if you store propane outside you still have propane in the hoses fueling your stove or heater. common sense takes you long way.
They might leak at the tank connector. Carbon monoxide is odorless but propane has a strong smell. The benefit having it inside is that you will know if it leaks and take action so you don't run out. But you need a CO detector for the sleeping hrs.
Great home for sure! Do you have the gray and black water tanks under the trailer? Or do you catch the shower water prior and the toilet water flushed or what?Thank you, August
Not being critical, just thought you might want to know - the sound/volume on this video is terrible - you need to either speak louder or have the microphone closer to you. Even though I had my volume turned up full, for most of the video it was really hard to hear what you were saying. I do like the layout you chosen.
I've been using a propane tank in my camper for 5 years. Common sense prevails. Make sure there are no leaks and keep away from a heat source. It's quite the opposite. Let a tank freeze outside and your regulator is a hazard. Flames with shoot up a foot high on the stove. They added stinky stuff to propane so you can smell it. They also sell propane detectors. Think about it, your lines are inside. They'll bust before a tank does.
Hey there, pretty late in your video but can I ask what your overall cost of conversion was including the cargo trailer. Can I make this happen under $10k?
Coming along nicely. New here, but I see you have a stove pipe and set up for a wood stove? Looks like a healthy sized pipe. What size or brand wood stove are you using? My setup in my 6x10 is not so advanced. For a shower I've been using a two room shower tent. I use only about 2.5 gallons per shower. Keep up the good work!
I’m considering framing walls and a roof around a 7 x 16 trailer as opposed to converting a cargo trailer. Apart from saving on the cost of building materials and reducing the likelihood of leaking (which I consider the big upsides), why did you choose a cargo trailer?

Hi there I was just wondering how this thing tows like what the tow rating is on your truck (tundra?) vs how it does... my truck is rated at 7500 and a trailer like this is a goal for me this spring
Oh wow, that's not bad at all, is yours all alluminum or regular construction? That doesn't seem too heavy at all for the size. My 4runner can tow up to 5,000 lbs so a 7x14 or 7x16 should work well. Thanks in advance. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge
@@DTM.Desperado it's a regular construction. If I did it all over again I would get the all aluminum frame. My truck does great pulling the weight until I drive into a 50mph head wind lol
@@nomadicjake4748 ok cool. So a regular 7x16 would still put me under my towing capacity. Thanks for your help man. I'm sure my 4runner will do fine pulling the load as the engines were designed for towing but I already know my gas mileage is going to drop like a rock lol.
