Remind AC that Marlins owner Wayne did strip the ‘97 World Series team… he had Dave Dombrowski trade for young prospects… those prospects like Josh Beckett won the World Series in 2003….

Biggest Concern to be is that Fangio expects and wants Players who are very disciplined with follow his Calls and Coverages - I expect Free Lancers Like CJGJ and Devin White to have issues under Fangio

The “5-2” front you’re referring to is called the “Tite” front and Vic has used it since he was in Carolina. It just became extremely popular once his 49ers dominated with it and Dave Aranda started using it. Steve Sidwell (who should’ve been mentioned here, quite frankly) implemented it and it ultimately trickled down into Capers, LeBeau, and Fangio’s systems as their primary base front.

It’s not Fangio’s base front anymore. He plays even fronts like 75% of the time now with the proliferation of 11 personnel and passing frequency

@@EaglesXsandOs “Base” front is the front played from Base personnel. It doesn’t mean it’s the front he calls the most. It is literally what he calls his “Base” front. It’s not based on interpretation. “Base” refers to the personnel package with three down linemen, two stand-up Edges, two ILBs, two CBs, and two Safety. “Tite” is the primary front for that package, but there’s also “Tuff” (Nose plays Lag technique), and multiple Under fronts named after birds. It has nothing to do with the frequency of what is called.

@@jaypee4188. In this case, thats a 4-2-5, not an Odd front like you’re describing. Sounds like you’re using a lot of terminology that Gate City uses. You just happen to be completely wrong about what base defense means, it’s not the naming convention of an actual front.

@@EaglesXsandOs I use the terminology that Coach Vass & HonestNFL use for it. I don’t think you know as much as you think you do if you don’t even understand what a common personnel package is. 4-2-5 is Nickel, and that’s not even close to what was described. It’s also literally what is in Fangio’s playbook. Go look it up if you’re having trouble with basic front terminology.

@@jaypee4188 every coach in the NFL would agree that base defense is the personnel you employ most often. I never said that was what was being described. I said his Base front, which despite you claiming is not based on what you come out in most 1st and 10s, is indeed a Nickel 4-2-5. You’re confused because the playbooks that Honest NFL has go back many years and there were odd fronts labeled as Base in the PDFs. Regardless, it’s semantics, but calling his Tite front base defense or base front simply misleads the audience and contributes no useful information. In fact, he played 4 man fronts even in short yardage and goal line situations more often than Odd.
