I wasn’t expecting the BingBong moment, almost cried. I had an imaginary friend and it definitely hit home haha. But the part that really got me was when she returns home after running away and tells her parents while hugging them ‘I can’t be happy all the time’.

honestly we can thank a combination of the pandemic and streaming for the recent box office performance of both Disney and Pixar movies. with Soul, Luca, Turning Red going straight to Disney+, Raya iirc was a day and date release, then Encanto, Strange World, and Lightyear were all on Disney+ 30-45 days after theatrical release, it trained the audience that they could just wait a month and watch the movie on Disney+ rather than going to the theater. Elemental was fantastic and Disney wisely waited until September to put it on Disney+ allowing it to slowly make its money. Wish didn't do well, I think in part because of review bombs and the streaming issue because a LOT of people posted saying they watched it on D+ for the first time and enjoyed it. I really hope Inside Out 2 does well because the audience loved the first one and this is a good sequel. The new emotions were all very fun to watch

@@wraithkelso Pandemic and streaming are definitely some reasons, but a lot of the movies also just weren't good. Lightyear was awful, Strange World was awful, Wish was awful, Elemental was super meh, etc. Review bombing isn't a thing btw. Wish got awful reviews from both the critics and audience alike

It didn't have an emotional scene like Bing Bong's death but (SPOILER ALERT) It did have an emotional scene in the film similar to Sadness saving Riley from the first

Rotten Tomatoes holds no weight after the atrocity score of 91% for the Acolyte. Im fully convinced people in Johns position are paid to say their property is good when deep down in their heats they know its trash.

Critic score is 85% and Audience score is 18%. I think the audience score is closer to reality.

You’ve got to pay attention to the average rating as well. The first film boasts an 8.9/10 average rating, while this one so far has a 7.4/10. It’s a pretty concerning drop. That being said, I’m not going to pretend I’ve seen the film and judge it as if I have. Gotta keep an open mind!

Let’s be honest, there’s a big, undeniable bias against Disney/Pixar. Even if we get good projects, people will watch it with negative mindset and end up not enjoying it.

7.4 is quite good for a sequel ngl it’s only 0.1 off of the really great which is 7.5, in my eyes films that are 7.5 and over are really great any film over 8.5 is near perfect

@@thefinalfighter2578 this is a fair point. A lot of us, myself included, have astronomical expectations for Pixar projects. It doesn’t mean we should do the opposite and accept crap, but it does mean that we may do well to be more accepting of decent projects that may not quite reach the heights of excellence seen from previous works

@@thefinalfighter2578 It's because Disney in the past few years especially have made so much garbage across all their properties and projects on top of inserting identity politics and agendas into their products, that fans are sick of it and don't want to keep giving Disney money and supporting them. When and if they actually make something good without agendas shoved in your face, like Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Avatar 2, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, etc., then people will actually watch it, enjoy it, and support it

Unpopular opinion but I think it was just ok. I have teenagers and we watched it together and they only thought it was ok. I also personally don’t think Disney does good sequels, but that’s MY OPINION.

Your opinion is yours. Personally, I think the emotion is much more grounded and a child can easily relate much more to growing distant from friends and having panic attacks than to a 12 year old running away like in the 1st film.

Woww wow wow..this movie is for teens and also actually for people going through adulting where we feel scary of losing of ourselves & feeling lost..love the director, such a fun and intelligent way of storytelling..cried at climax..so much connected Love this movie 5/5 ♥️♥️💥

You need to understand Rotten Tomatoes have a Disney/Pixar bias. Most of their movies are favored by their critics even if they are rejected by regular viewers.

@@johncampea They don't "own" the critics, yet many of them who actually use the RT platform to post their reviews have a Disney Bias. It's pretty obvious because of how they sunk the DCEU, even though in later years their movies were using the same paint by numbers strategy that Marvel was doing. It seems that Disney have some kind deal with critics, because many of their movies have been flunking on the box office, but according to them, they're great? It's very rare that a current movie has both been loved by critics and viewers and that's one of the reasons why Hollywood is in trouble, the movies that Hollywood wants to push, mostly have an agenda, in which Disney participates in, while viewers and fans just want to have fun at the cinema.
