That's kind of the point of lazy movie productions, like a bus falling off a bridge with someone on it and at the part of the bus that is falling first (not how gravity works), with Fear pointing out little things such as the bad acting, low budget and lazily executed props, and terrible writing.
in dreams nothing is ever correct, if you go to your house in a dream, somthing will be off about it. You can't read in dreams ethier. the movie just plays it off as a bad production and terrible ideas
I like how Bing Bong happily approves of and agrees with Sadness’s idea of scaring Riley to wake her up over Joy’s idea of making Riley excited to wake her up showing that unlike Joy he doesn't mind Riley feeling other emotions aside from happiness like sadness, fear, anger and digust even if it means benefiting her.
One thing I like about this scene is it shows just how egotistical and how much of a control freak Joy is. She plans to get Riley to wake up from her dream feeling happy and exhilarated, totally forgetting or not realizing that if she is not at HQ or more specifically the control desk, Riley is incapable of feeling any variation of happiness. Joy, while being the de facto head of emotions, has gone so long being in charge, it's gone to her head in a passive-aggressive manner. She would most likely treat the other emotions how she treats Sadness if they didn't have a purpose that benefited Riley being happy (and by extension, Joy) to some extent or another.
Of course her plan was never going to work, (Sadness was right for one thing and her plan of scaring Riley to wake her up despite making her feel uncomfortable in the process was a much better one because Fear was there in HQ to make Riley wake up when she witnessed that dream.) because she was never there to make Riley happy for god's sake! And Fear was the only one in headquarters doing dream duty and he didn't wake Riley up after seeing the happy dream Joy put together because he only wakes Riley up if she experiences scary dreams and therefore it took Joy, Sadness and Bing Bong's two scary dreams one first of the ripped in half dog chasing its other half and later having Juggles scare Riley worked for good!
Heck, Bing Bong even agreed with Sadness's plan of scaring Riley showing that unlike Joy is actually cool with Riley feeling other emotions like sadness, fear and anger sometimes too as he can be seen smiling and nooding when Sadness came up with that idea but frowns slightly when Joy comes up with her stupid idea of making Riley so happy and excited that she will wake up (Even though she is not in HQ to make her happy for pete's sake!)
One thing I like about this comment is how it makes no sense. Joy is just trying to wake Riley up, not make her happy. She never ever said that was her goal. You made up that notice so you can display your hatred of Joy who is pretty much almost always right.
@dragonflarefrog1424 What are you smoking? Joy's whole plan to wake Riley up is based on her assumption that a dream exciting and positive enough is what's needed to wake her up
Try watching Real Women Have Curves with the stripping scene and But, He Loves Me with the boy antagonist raping the female lead. I watched both movies and other films in high school.
2:54 The weird thing about this is that I remember having a dream many years ago where I saw one of our cats in a very similar way, only the front half while the back half was missing ,but the cat was walking and acting like normal, not having any pain. This also looks very similar to SCP-529 (Josie the half cat), although I had the dream many years ago, long before knowing anything about SCPs. I wonder if this is just a common dream thaat many people had, that inspired the writers of SCP-529 and also of Inside Out to put this in.
Joy’s idea of making Riley excited to the point of waking up and Sadness’s idea of scaring Riley to wake her up is a reversal of the monsters at Monsters’ Inc. switching from scarers to comedians in the franchise with the same name also produced by Pixar.
Wait! Since Bing Bong was erased from Riley's memories in the end. But then she sees him suddenly appearing in her dream! So could that means Bing Bong will possibly be revived if Riley remembering what she has been dreaming in the past? Maybe in future films if not the upcoming sequel?
He was erased after the dream, so he's probably forgotten now. But eh, the memory is a difficult thing to depict accurately. You can forget things, like a movie you've seen before, and think "Wait...I watched that? When?", then watch about 10 minutes of it and instantly remember the movie. Then some memories truly are just...gone. I was told I went to my uncle's funeral years ago, but no matter how hard I try to remember it, I can't recall a single thing about it. So, I wouldn't say the mind works 100% this way with forgetting. There's probably memories that are literally black in your mind (if you go Inside Out thinking) but you'd remember it with a slight nudge, but others are truly just...gone.
"Boooo! Pick a plotline" I laughed like a maniac for a good five minutes when I heard that line opening night. One of the few times a movie made me laugh till I cried. The other ones were Bad Grandpa, Edge of Tomorrow, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Joy “I know Riley!” Uh, Joy? I think you’re forgetting that ALL the emotions know Riley. And of course the happy dream was never going to work. Not just because Joy wasn’t at headquarters, but if people are having a happy or good dream, they wouldn’t want to wake up from it.
The entire like dream sequence made me laugh the most because Riley is one dream about that freaking dog is not all my dreams are their terrifying and confusing. Mostly confusing, but Google told me that a lot of my dreams have meanings of all my fucking dreams. Dreams are mostly about things like, the space monkeys having to fight off Alexander Hamilton clones on Mars
This movie honestly did a great job of describing how all humans dream. It’s all a bunch of random and out of context stuff happening at once such as what Riley was dreaming about in this scene.
