I just realized that the Brazilian guy in the teacher’s mind when he already appeared in the exact same way in the mom’s mind is Pixar subtly telling us he’s a womanizer. Lmao nicely done Pixar 😂👍
Hahahahahaha! I love how the bus driver's emotions are all angry drivers too. I was a truck driver for a year, before I became a car salesman and trust me, what you see here is true. Any professional driver will agree with me on this one XD
I find it weird that Gary's Anger (the red one) is normal while his 'Joy', 'Sadness', 'Fear' and 'Disgust' are all just recolors of the same emotion, with the same shape and everything. Does anyone else notice that?
Inside my head- “We got work tomorrow, shouldn’t we go to sleep?” “No way, let’s watch a few more videos!” “We hate our job anyway.” “3 years of college and we bag groceries. We EARNED another video!” “How come OUR videos don’t get a million views?”
What do you imagine your Headquarters, and by extension, your emotions, to look like? I imagine that, at least currently, my Headquarters resembles a ship's bridge with various tools being the equivalent of driving me forward. There would be engine order telegraphs that would determine how quickly I'd move. It would be at slow ahead while walking, half ahead for jogging, and full ahead for running. All stop and stand by are self-explanatory, whereas slow astern, half astern, and full astern would be the equivalent of moving backwards at similar speeds to what I described for ahead. Both these EOTs, and the "helm" would be attached to the standard control console, with each emotion currently viewing themselves as quartermasters rather than officers: All are equal. While my memories would be mostly evenly distributed at the beginning, over time the ones of my Joy would be more common. I _may or may not_ have had similar scenarios to what Riley went through, except that they weren't sparked by moving, as all three houses I've lived in are in close proximity to each other with my Grandma currently living in one of them! As I wear eyeglasses, It more than likely isn't just my Sadness that wears them. I picture my version of Anger being taller than most, to reflect the fact that, unlike most, I do not have a, shall we say, short temper. It takes a _lot_ to set me off, but usually I calm down relatively quickly. That is, unless you call the ships I build the _Titanic,_ especially on purpose. Among my current Islands of Personality would be Shipping Island, (As if it wasn't already obvious) British Railway Island, (Though I am American, I prefer British railways thanks to a certain series of children's books) Family Island, (As every sane person would) and Zootopian Island. (Because that is, and I hope I don't get lynched for this, the only animated movie that surpasses this one.
All I can picture is what Jordan's mind was structured (At least when he's not confronted by a girl) as shown in _RFD?:_ All of his memories are scattered around Headquarters, and all his emotion are goofing off and skateboarding, with only his Fear consistently at the console, and even he is easily distracted. In other words, Jordan is scatterbrained and absent-minded.
Mine would be a bizzare mishmash of a writer's room, a gaming battlestation/arcade, a holographic interface, and the bridge of an interceptor starship. Memory storage itselc resembles that of a marble run that just winds around the room in general, sometimes tripping up those inside. My emotion's clothing would probably be messy, wrinkly, and likely geek/nerd related. Also, terrible color coordination. The console itself sticks a lot. Sometimes pushing a button shorts something out. Control between emotions swaps rapidly. Typical operation under pressure would probably resemble that of an Overcooked! game.
The cat with the glasses reminds me of the pocket dragon, Specs. Imagine a pocket dragon adventures parody of Inside Out Joy- Filbert Sadness- Specs Anger- Cuddles Disgust- Scribbles Fear- Zoom-Zoom
To be honest, if getting a clown gig is all you can get after graduating drama school is because you suck. Most great actors went to drama school, they are able to get good gigs because they are good actors.
1:26 a really adorable moment when the Joy cat was so bouncy and actually tried to cheer Sad cat up by rubbing and hugging on him and tried to cheer Anger cat too
Notice the background memories in the head of these characters: Clown - mostly sadness Gary the bus driver - mostly anger Dog - mostly happiness Cat - mostly disgust
This is making me cry because I’m a freshman in college and watching this makes me thinks back to my days in high school. So basically this brings back to many good memories.
I love that the teacher's Anger is banging her head against the globe, but I completely lost it at the bus driver XD Also "Being cool is so exhausting." is such an underrated line.

Have you guys noticed the colors/emotions that dominate the most in those characters' memory orbs? For example, the clown has a lot of blue and purple orbs, the bus driver has mostly red, the dog is all joy, the cat disgust, and so on.
I like the bus driver one. And the cat and the dog. Bus driver emotions: *Yellling and screaming* Angry bus driver emotion: Guys this ok this is fine, we just need to go to our happy place. *Triple dent song plays* All emotions: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Indeed, it never showed Valentina's emotions or somebody else's from the hockey camp. They probably didn't do it to give more main role to Riley's 4 new emotions.
@@gregory64963If we can see them all in Valentina's perspective, emotions are voiced differently. Not sure who should voice them aside the ones we normally heard, but I prefer the trio who voiced Franklin, Michael, and Trevor from gta 5 (aptly Ned Luke, Steven Ogg, and Shawn Fonteno). Sounds funny, but I wish it should happen. Usually three of the emotions
@@LegoReader12345hello I think the implication is he's spent so much time being angry and his anger is so powerful that the other emotions have all morphed into Angers.
I hope the emo kid at 0:35 appears in the sequel I mean her mean emotion is Fear and she's putting on an act so people will think she's cool, it would be great see her development alongside Riley
yknow i actually would like to see that as well now that u mention it. we dont know much about her but she didnt seem to be a mean girl in the 1st film. maybe she struggled making friends and thought that acting cool was the way to go.
If she does appear in the sequel, would you imagine that either Anxiety or Ennui would be her new main emotion or at least affect a lot of her memory orbs?
Yes, we, the audience, can look into the minds of others through the filmmakers. This reminded me of an idea that could be presented in a possible sequel. They could introduce a character, who comes to the attention of Riley (and her emotions). It is obvious that he/she has problems, and over time Riley tries to help him/her. The most important thing about the new character is that we never see his/her emotions as we can't see into each other's heads in real life. So viewers get to know his/her personality along with Riley. After all, this film is also about growing up, and the caring of someone else is part of that.
@@dylansharp8471 Riley meets and looks up to a character called Valentina Ortiz in the 2nd Inside Out. We never see inside her head throughout the entire film.
I’ve always wondered how the headquarters emotions would function in the mind of someone who is insane (like, they have things like schizophrenia, split personality, or are psychopaths/sociopaths)? Would it be dysfunctional?
0:29/0:34 A lot of people have wondered why Riley’s Anger and Fear are male but many seem to have not noticed that the pizza girl’s Anger and Fear appear to male as well. Just thought I would point this out that’s all.
Some people say it's because the people with different gendered emotions are nonbinary or gender fluid or something. I'd say it's people express their emotions if different ways.
Bus drivers memories are mostly angry Cool student is mostly fear and sadness Pizza employee is a mix of angry, sad and fear Clown is sadness and fear Cat is mostly disgust None of them have many recent happy memories Apart from dog, but we all know dogs are always happy
Especially when you consider the fact that he's a broken man who needs a girl and a new job. I'm sure there are plenty of indie filmmakers he could work with, can't make those six years mean nothing.
Now I want to imagine how the emotions of these people would look like: -A suicidal person. -A Karen. -Someone with dementia. -A serial killer. -A discord or reddit mod. -A psychopath. -A stoic person. -A junky. -A bigot. -A simp. -A religious fanatic. -A politics fanatic. A celebrity's fanatic.
serial killers usually are psychopaths, sociopath are psycopaths that are made not born so they can still have empathy but it's severely wilted... so often they display high narcissism... so if they are high functioning probably all disgust all around with some joy and no fear because they are also usually very impulsive. if they aren't high functioning antisocial ppl and are of the really damaging scary antisocial type then probably a looot of anger like the bus driver.
@@gregory64963 if they have alzeimer they wouldn't remember stuff so opposite of nostalgia :P i met ppl with alzheimer were always very likable and sweet until you told them no they can't do that...switched to anger real quick. so they'd probably be left with joy , anger and fear for those who don't tap into anger when denied something.
I take it you are referring to _Intercom?_ But, anyway, in _Outside In,_ she spends most of the story just acting cool with two more cool girls following her everywhere, but by the end, decides that they should be friends with Riley, as they find her cool as well. Oh, and here's the link to it: archiveofourown.org/works/17267612/chapters/40607741
I love how you can see the different personalities with the cat ones--Cat Joy gets affectionate with mopey Cat Sadness, Cat Anger hisses at Cat Joy, Cat Disgust hocks up a hairball, etc. I also love their memory colors--the Dog has mostly Joy memories and the Cat has mostly Disgust memories XD
I wonder how they'll explain why other people's heads seem to have only 5 emotions in the sequel. The ones who are around the same age as Riley I can guess their "Puberty" alarms haven't gone off yet, but what about the ones older than her. Someone on Facebook said that since the new emotions aren't as important, they might just be sitting on the side, which makes sense. Also little theory, what if the people whose emotions aren't all the same gender could be LGBTQ+? If my theory is true then Riley could be either a lesbian or bisexual, most likely the latter.
The original plan for Inside out (first film, and are sketched on the official movie artbook) was 22 - 27 emotions. I guess they will explain this on the second movie, how emotions join throughout the years. (i guess second floor? Secondary emotions? Minor office?
The sequel insinuates there’s like a waiting room or a bunker of other emotions and they just appear when it’s time or supposed to be time Aka nostalgia
The history teacher, the pizzeria cashier, the school goth, Jangles the clown, the bus driver, a dog, and a stray cat. What about plants? Plants have feelings too.
I like how the leading emotions of everyone is different. The teacher and clown have joy, popular girl has fear, bus driver anger (although they all replicate that), the dog has joy, pizza girl has disgust, and the cat apparently has fear lead too (I guess)
Popular Girl makes so much sense when you realize that their status could be in vain. Bus Driver are trying to stay patient as much as they can before they can lash out. Dogs are always happy and show their loving side.
