Went to Scottsdale for a work conference in April. DT Old Scottsdale is beautiful! Very upscale, lots of beautiful people. Enjoyed my time, I definitely want to go back!

@@Jaycation Melrose district is very nice for bar goers of the LGBT community, but they are friendly to all. Old Town Scottsdale is very nice for the same reason, and is extremely diverse with some pretty nice historic areas.
Dang, we have avoided Scottsdale for YEARS because for us locals. It didn’t offer anything new. Your video showed me Scottsdale still has some things to see. Thank you 😊
Wow, Scottsdale has changed so much. When I was a kid in the 70s we lived in the southern end closer to Paradise Valley. Back then the area was just lots of dirt and some homes. It's remarkable how the area looks now.
Old Town is definitely more trendy. More walkable, has all the shopping plus the more local shops, art, bars and clubs. Kierland/Scottsdale Quarter is where families would probably have a better chill time tho.
Hi Jay, We live in Cave Creek, AZ (just 14 miles north of the AC Hotel) We have stayed there at the AC Hotel quite a few times. We enjoy staycations that are close to us. We have eaten at all of the restaurants you mentioned and have played golf at The Kierland golf course. So glad you got to visit our fine area. I enjoy your vlogs. Keep it up!!
Very cool video Jaycation! I've lived here for 25 years and absolutely love it. I've seen this area when it was just nothing but desert. I live near Tom Thumb hiking and was surprised to see it in this video.. Loved the video!
Let’s be honest the only things you can do in AZ is golf and walk the trails. If you like doing that you’ll love it here. If you want to do something else or you enjoy the nightlife you will never find that here. The only noteworthy restaurant is culinary dropout and some steak places that have really steep prices. By steep I mean that even when I just go there to eat dessert and a drink I am spending almost $100. There’s nothing to do here and the only time you can come is between October - April. I do like to clarify because most people are mislead when they see videos like these.

A good calzone is something I haven’t had in awhile and I was reminded of it with those deep dish pizzas you ordered. The skirt steak salad of sorts you ordered look good too. This was an entertaining vlog of yours to watch. It’s enjoyable to see you go out to eat and see those dishes!
orange blossom beer is BOMB! But I havent found one as good as Oak Creek Canyon Brewery. and it smelled just like smelling a blossom off the tree and tasted just as grand. I miss it.
I live in Scottsdale and i would not recommend visiting during the summer. It gets pretty warm at 110+, The best time to visit Scottsdale is between Oct - April

Damn that hotel looks awesome. My wife keeps trying to get me to book a hotel here but I always feel it's a waste of money since we live here. One day maybe. Glad you had fun out here with dadcation =)
You're pretty much right in my backyard in this video. I only live 5 miles west of Kierland, in a neighborhood that is decidedly less trendy. LOL. Lou Malnatis is really good. For a place as nice and upscale as it is, the prices there are surprisingly reasonable.
I used to ride my bike all around that area before all that was built in the 90's. they did an excellent job. But if you really want trendy scottsdale check out DC ranch Silverleaf horseshoe canyon. Good luck getting in
Ehhhh, you did it easy, and didnt really go out and dig deep for some of the real treasures. But it is good for people from other places to come visit and see and eat things that are concentrated in one area. Second time around will be better I hope..
