Always love your videos! -- I actually love the idea of not having a light on the balcony! I love going out in the dark and relaxing, and too often neighbors forget to turn their light off and it spills over the privacy partition.

@@JJCruise, when you are bored, read about the light pollution; it is massive. There should be a sign in your cabin (close to the glass) about light at night interfering with ship's navigation.

We have complained countless times to Guest Services about Bal. lights left on with no one out there when we want to have a glass of wine and look at the stars. I take battery candles too if we need them but the lights on most Bal. are bright and obnoxious.

Lights are there for a reason - I honestly don't mind others hanging out with their light on (even if I'd prefer they didn't), but so often people forget to turn it off - and it's really nice to have some quiet/dark time AFTER the neighbors have turned theirs off.

The Lasagna from Sabattini's was made out of pure love and magic. I am not positive what I have been eating before when people made Lasagna, but it was not this. Also those Sicilian Rice Balls (Ari-something) were fantastic. We will end up using both of our upcoming Specialty dinings at Sabatinni's.

We loved the sun princess, we were on the 1st sailing that was originally the 3rd. The food was awesome everywhere, we loved the american diner with later hours and breakfast whenever you want. And I loved that they service you in the buffet instead of people touching everything with their cootie hands. We felt like many of the restaurant seats were kind of uncomfortable though, especially if you have extra wide hips

Please rethink the dark balcony issue. Leave the drapes open just to get settled out there with your drinks. Your eyes will quickly adjust. Then enjoy the stars and the moonlight! You may even catch a shooting star! ✨️

I was on the Enchanted Princess in January, and I spent some time in The Enclave almost every day. I love the thermal spas! As for a light on the balcony, I'm glad they don't have one. I like going outside in the dark of night and I wouldn't want lights from other rooms interfering with that.

Nice job on the videos. My wife and I are booked with the reserve collection mini suite in October. This will be our 19 cruise with Princess. I was looking forward to new ships from them. This ship looks great.

We’re with you Jordan, craft cocktails are one of our favorite things! Those drinks looked amazing 🤩 but a little pricey compared to what we’ve seen on other ships. My first time commenting ever on RU-vid. I enjoyed this video so much I just had to leave a comment! I will be sailing on Sun Princess April 8th, 2024 from Rome. This will be my first time on a cruise. I've joined a couple of Sun Princess FB groups and have been watching tons of RU-vid videos relating to my upcoming trip. FB groups have been mostly negative with some positive mixed in. Other RU-vid videos were just okay and not nearly as enjoyable to watch as yours! You both did a fantastic job with realistic expectations on a brand new beautiful ship, thoughtful reviews, pros and cons along with gorgeous visuals. Thank you for the information and insights! Thanks for your thorough reviews of the Sun Princess! I've been watching all your videos! I will be cruising this ship with my partner and 9 year old son in May!! Beyond excited as this is our first cruise ever! Question about the tween zone, did you happen to notice if it's like a kids club or can parents hang with their kiddos in that space? I can't really find much about this online. We are hoping we can stay with him and play games and such as he has some anxiety around being there alone. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Can't wait for your next Sun princess video!

From our understanding, kids 0-2 must have an adult with them. As for Tweens with Anxiety or certain needs should contact Princess in advance and see what the capabilities are for accessibility for the parents. Typically, they like it to be a no parent zone, but are also mindful of different needs for different kids.

I can tell you are not very familiar with Princess, we love the medallion, when we first got it two years ago, we were like kids, tested it, we sat on the back of the ship and asked for a drink, and sure enough, the bar boy showed up with the drinks, we thought it was so cool! We like Princess, not as much as we love Celebrity! ❤️

We 💗 them. new ships from msc, carnival & RC don't really feel like your on a ship..(no windows on main decks in lounges & walkways) I am concerned that their putting in BIG Waterpark areas..Def have noticed the line targeting families ,which is a new direction for Prin.. Def have best all inc deal at sea. Drinks,tips,wifi & more starting at $60 per day ! U 2 are always fun time watch. 👍

Why do you want a light on a balcony? When you turn on a light you can’t see the ocean well. If I’m on the balcony it’s because I want to stare at the water. If I want to do something I need light for, I would go inside

Great report guys, many thanks! Decor doesn't look nearly as edgy or interesting as NCL's Prima Class ships. Lots of beige and bright lighting. NCL also puts far more thought into the decors of their specialty dining venues, just compare Cagney's with the Butcher's Block on Princess. Gorgeous ship otherwise but Princess needs to ditch the beige and boring vibe.

We're cruising the Sun Princess at the end of May. We were supposed to be on the 1st cruise in February but the ship wasn't ready, so I booked us for the next available sailing. Love the dining room options . We like to dress for dinner and enjoy formal dining, however it’s not for everyone. We get to choose. Great way to go princess. Also no self serve in buffet. Don’t want to get sick. We love celebrity, however we may change to princess.

Another great video! Thanks! We are new to Princess, and can’t decide if we should book the Sun or Sky or Enchanted for Christmas 2024. We have a young teen who doesn’t necessarily need to have the bells & whistles of Royal Caribbean (though we love rock climbing,zip lining etc on Oasis) but we also all appreciate more laid back, premium atmosphere. Is Sun Princess the best choice for our first Princess cruise? We cruised with Royal as mentioned and Disney (love both) and tried Carnival once, not for us.

So nice to see that Princess have finally left that stodgy neo-classical look behind. I'm a keen Princess cruiser but have longed for a more contemporary style of decor. I live in Australia and I assume that Sun Princess will be based in the Carribean and Mediterranean, so won't be cruising on the ship on any regular basis but, hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for other new ships (and possibly refurbs).

Full service dinner meals during breakfast hours? How does the kitchen manage this? Reheating? Microwave? While having a prime rib, baked potato, asparagus and hollandaise at 9am sounds attractive, culinarily, how do they manage? You can't cook a prime rib roast that quickly. Or bake (not microwave) a potato. They are either kitchen magicians or perhaps you have misunderstood. Scrambled eggs and pancakes for dinner is sometimes appealing and easy for the kitchen to prepare fresh. A quick smashed burger any time makes sense. But full dinner food for breakfast? It is a wonderful idea, but I'm skeptical of its execution. I can't wait to learn more about this!

I love the main diner where I don’t have to dress up on vacation I don’t like to dress up. That’s why I don’t go to the main diamonds on some of the shifts but this ship I will go and eat at the main diamond. Thank you.

My only experience on Princess was a full transit through the Panama Canal. It was difficult to walk the hallways getting to your cabin due to so many scooters and wheelchairs parked outside so many cabins. We have been hesitant to book another Princess cruise. Is this still an issue?

😂 I feel like the Goldilocks of new cruise ships. I would definitely choose this over Icon, but it doesn’t really inspire me. Sun Princess is too beige, Icon is too bright. I am 🤞the Treasure is well executed, because if they deliver on their promise, they will have my Disney Adult money - they had me at Haunted Mansion Parlor, Skipper Society, and Periscope Pub - as Disney Parks history/lore nerd this could be epic.

I have a sailing on the Sun Princess with a Premier package coming 3/22/25. Its the food in the specialty restaurant as opposed to the area. I am a traditionalist been sailing mostly annually since 1972 and love the three tier Horizon MDRS. I am happy To learn your experienced prospective…Thank you🙂🚢

If you want "free style" then NCL is the ticket. If you want "Titanic", then Holland America Line is the ticket. I loved Virgin Voyages because it was more casual and "no judgement zone!"

Thanks guys. I went on Princess to Alaska 15 years ago an old ship.. Swore i wouldnt book again but trying to be open. But ship looks like a hospital with long hallways and you said the Specialty Dining isnt special enough. With their rising prices and Premium add on its not wort it. I dont drink alcohol, another reason. The only thing that tempted me was Dons experience at the Magic show dining experience for 149.00 But i dont think i would book it just for that. It is a sad trend that the ships get bigger - Sun Princess 4500 vs Sky Princess 3700, but they shrink the main 'pools' by what looks like 30%. Will try the ship out, but looks like a lot of missed opportunities. I am a grown human, I think I can serve myself coffee or food. The removal of self service food was done with one goal in mind, to reduce costs. Anyone who says it is for cleanliness is a bit mistaken. On a plus side, the medallions are a gamechanger. This is coming from a loyal Princess cruiser.

There are actually 5 pools onboard and they are all larger than they look on video. The pool in the dome area is actually exceptionally large. The size of the ship never felt overwhelming to us, and it was actually a sold-out sailing!

Hiring extra servers and waiters does not lower the cost. It may reduce food waste. The positive outcome will become obvious when there are some sick people onboard. Also, another COVID in the future is very possible.

Currently the Piazza is the main place for all dancing. Soon the Dome will have night time events including dancing. ☺️

Having a casual option isn't unique to Sun Princess--it sounds like the same thing as on NCL ships, the Local or Sheehan's. It's just elsewhere on NCL ships, which is less confusing than it will be on Sun for elderly/international Princess passengers. NCL has also opened up their American Diner, which further adds to the casual included options, and of course the newest ships have a food hall. Virgin has also been including casual and more classic dining spots all along. So hardly unique for Princess, they're just catching up with the rest of the cruise world, including having dedicated sushi and teppanyaki dining. The same with the dome--it's the same concept as 270 on Royal Quantum-class ships, or Eden on Edge-class Celebrity ships, and the high-wire aquatic show is direct from the newest Royal ships. HAL and Celebrity have also done the wraparound stage, and NCL and Virgin already have adjustable seating options for performance spaces. What's really taking a step backwards is having to wait in line for buffet stations, versus ordering from a table, as on Virgin and NCL Prima class or having separate islands/sections to break up lines. Single lines for 4,000 in a buffet areas is just a no-go for me.

Tried virgin..not a fan, msc, ccl & RC cater to families & offer only a portion of ea ship for more discriminating clientele..( haven/ yact club) Ncl all in (drinks,wifi,tips etc) for us, wasn't as good a deal as Prin or even Celebrity.. There's a line for every taste & budget.. Just need to do your research..hence watching reviewers like jj cruise is very useful..

Medallion: just got off the Emerald Princess; the Medallion was used only part of the time...all the bartenders STILL asked us for our Room Number...so it was slightly annoying...especially in a noisy/busy bar... if they are just going to ask for our room number anyways, why say that the Medallion has this capability for Tapping for everything, when it doesn't work for everything!!

The ship looks amazing. I love prices and using the medallion. I wonder what the acoustic will be like in the dome. P & O Iona and Arvia have a fine and the acoustics are awful. The Arena looks lovely. I bet the production shows will be amazing.

I stopped cruising on Princess years ago even though I had Elite status because of all the nickel and diming as well as low quality food. Please comment on that and compare to what you're seeing on Celebrity, etc. in your next review.

Thanks for your review. It is sad to me that Princess decided to "go live" with a ship that is NOT ready! Things like the dome shows, theater production and the top deck activities are some of the highlights that Princess has been advertising to "entice" the cruiser to the ship. I think they should have done a good month of "stress testing" the ship the way the ICON was tested by crew. To hear that it may be a couple of MONTHS before some things are ready really tells me that the ship should not be sailing before JUNE! Solid NO for me on any new ship from Princess in the coming years, as it reflects mismanagement at the highest level.

Hey guys, thanks for the video - I am going on this ship at the end of March and am looking to use the opportunity to try a bunch of different cocktails so I can know what to purchase when I get back after the trip. When it comes to the menus, I assumed it was the same ones you see online, but it sounds like there are loads and loads more. Do you have a list of any others that can be shared or located online? I want to make sure I dont miss any of the really experimental or intriguing options available!

Re SPA, I believe why most are getting away from it is perhaps with more and more fear of spreading viruses. People are playing it safer. I also assume there might be some directives by the insurance companies...........

I do not like the specialty dining open to public /loud areas…reminds me of videos of the icon of the seas. Those craft cocktails had to step up in price for the premium package buyers 🤷🏻‍♀️ I really like the medallion and it sure puts Disney to shame🤦🏻‍♀️
