In the late 1990's, I flew a pair of 60's for a Midwest corporation. It was a fun airplane to fly with wonderful performance; its climb performance was outstanding.
It’s important to note that one can buy a pre-owned Lear 60XR, but not a new one. Unfortunately, there will be no more new Learjets. I worked at Learjet back in the 1980’s, and I had the privilege of working on these amazing planes. The fact is, there is nothing else like a Learjet. They were (and still are) a cut above.
The Learjet 60XR was never priced at $20 Million. At the absolute most it was priced at $15 Million. Most however, went out the door at $13 to $14 Million. SMH
So, as a non pilot, this jet caught my attention. However, I was surprised it takes over 1 mile to take off at sea level and 1100+ gallons of jet fuel per hour. I think I will set me sights a little lower.
Challenger 604/5 or any Gulfstream, Larger Falcon. Even then, not the tallest in height (I am 6'4 so tough for me) but they do offer ample leg space and arm room for those flights 5 to 8 hours.@@JD-te6vm
