From the comments, David, it sounds like you've inspired a lot of people by your art. I like it too, have one of your books and one of your videos. What I like best about this visit to your studio, however, is the sense of true humility that is essential to you. And that speaks of God's artistry within you. No wonder you do so well.
A legend amongst humanity and a god amongst painters. I've had the honour of painting alongside David and his friends on a number of occasions. His humility is admirable and his attitude is inspirational. David will be studied for centuries by many and rightly so!
IMHO nowadays America has some very fine representational painters , and the UK ( which seems more concerned with fashion that actual merit ) has a few . This Gentleman is most certainly by any standards one of ours .
I have admired your work for years! Thanks for giving us a tour of your studio. I have always said that a studio that is overly tidy, is probably where nothing is really getting done. Happy Holidays from the USA.
This video popped up on my recommendations just this morning...three years after you filmed it. Great to see the space where you work (indoors). You're "messy"....but not Francis Bacon messy. Thanks for the tour, inspiring! it made me want a studio where I would have "several things going".
Hello David. I take it, it was you that sent me a comment on my Lakeside Railway. I have been unable to reply to your comment through the normal reply channel, this was the only way has I did not want you to think that I couldn't be bothered to answer. Regarding your comment if it is you what you can see in the tracks is the sensors for changing the signals to red once the train go's over them. Mick
Loved this fly on the wall trip around your studio, it certainly has a good vibe, a very special place indeed. Thanks for being so generous and sharing it..🙂👍
Thank you so much - I have loved your work for years, have learned so much from your wonderful books too. You are a spectacularly good artist!! Fun to see your studio - very like I imagined- comfy, delightfully practical.
I enjoyed this visit to David´s studio a lot! Though I must say it is already a bit familiar for me from his instructional videos :-) His books and videos and have been a reference for me as a painter for many years, plus he looks such a nice person!
Lovely to see your studio David and take a tour around your memories and paintings. It looks an inspiring place to work, it's true we all do need these creative spaces! I hope to visit and see you and your studio in person soon :-) Best wishes & happy painting, Clare
There are watercolour artists in this world, and there is David Curtis - the God of watercolour. One can only wish to spend some time with you and learn from the epitome of dexterity that you possess.
Thank you David. It's fascinating to see your studio and how you work. It looks very warm and cosy and it might be a chaotic mess but I bet you know where everything is. Your happy place... All the very best to you David. Keep safe...
I thoroughly enjoyed that David - thank you! I'm a hobby painter of seven years, have watched thousands of youtube videos for inspiration but only now and then come up with a gem! Thank you again. Hugh Morley
Such a lucky man; working in a space full of paintings by the great DC! I've actually only ever seen one of his paintings in the flesh. It was sublime in colour, drawing, composition, paint handling - and well, everything. IMO, his work should be in all our major museums etc, instead of the political stuff that fills them at present.
