I disagree that the Chicago outfit was decentralized. The capos may have had autonomy but they were all put in place by the Accardo Rica faction and they remained loyal and did what they were told.
@theninthheart4736
@theninthheart4736 2 года назад
Lol no they weren’t. The Capos & territories were put in place by Nitti/Ricca/Campagna, in 1933. Accardo has zero to do with it. He was under Tony Cap at the time
@yesterdayproductions1019
@yesterdayproductions1019 11 месяцев назад
The Outfit WAS decentralized AFTER Giancana & Ricca were gone. Accardo then became a Semi-Retired Counselor to all 6 Bosses. Auippa & Cerone were simply "first among equals". Auippa (Melrose Park) Cerone (Elmwood Park) Lombardo (Grand Avenue) Torello (Cicero) Solano (North Side) Pilotto (Chicago Heights

Who was lending money first, Teets or Mad Sam?? I also read somewhere that there was a power battle between the accardo and Ricca faction and another group of guys to take over. At least what an informant said. It doesn’t say who he is just a number.
@tronsnow4763
@tronsnow4763 2 года назад
If anything it would’ve been between both factions...Ricca controlled the Taylor Street guys and Accardo the Elmwood Park/Northside.....
@charlesandrews2360
@charlesandrews2360 2 года назад
It was during the 1940s when Ricca and Campania were in prison. The northsiders were plotting to take over but Ross Prio ratted them out and was given the task of dispatching his bosses. He allegedly gave the job to the three Doms and then took over the Northside/Rush Street rackets for the outfit.
@theninthheart4736

@@tronsnow4763 prio controlled the northside, not accardo. Elmwood/grand isn’t technically the north side

Just a mild correction. Ray Ryan cheated Nick the Greek Dandolos, not Jimmy the Greek as stated, out of approximately $500k in 1949 at gin rummy poolside at the Thunderbird and Flamingo using a peek with a telescope and a radio transmission device. Ian Fleming would later use this as a plot device in the James Bond novel Goldfinger. The story goes that Nick was either backed financially by the Chicago Outfit in the game or he asked boss Tony Accardo for help. Accardo dispatched Outfit heavy Marshall Caifano to collect, but Ryan wouldn’t pay. The matter simmered until Caifano, along with Allen Smiley and Charles Del Monico (son of Genovese capo Charlie “the Blade” Tourine) muscled Ryan, who went to the cops.

@@theninthheart4736 I didn’t say they were amazing. They obviously get things mixed up and connect conspiracy theories into real stories and what not. But they’re the best of the Chicago mob podcasts, other than Adam and red from mobvlog, and Gary Jenkins, the rest of the podcasts and mini docs stink.

Cerone never worked for Battaglia. Cerone was the Boss of his own Elmwood Park Group & was Accardo's right hand man.

Who coined the name Outfit? And why?
@PaulWhitcombe
@PaulWhitcombe 3 года назад
For Capone, it was the "Syndicate." The Outfit moniker came later. Murray Humphreys or Accardo coined it I guess.

‘Outfit’ was a term used for all the crime syndicates around the US back then, it just stuck in Chicago for whatever reason
