Oh, they’re still going on about it? First time I’ve heard of this for ages. Seeing as how Big Ben/Elizabeth Tower is done, how much will the rest of the complex cost to do up?

@@hullian1113 Yes, as the place is falling down around them. Nothing works (a nice symbol of the country at large) and it is in dire need of repair. 2025 was the year set, and if they don't move by autumn next year, they are at risk of one day the House of Commons ceiling will collapse in on them, and the Lord's windows falling in.

QEII is where they announce the tory leader - where would that be i assume some new place. and the dep for housing/communities owns the lease for that so it makes sense, but when he was in charge of the department gove said they wouldnt be moving there..

I do not now believe they will move out rather they will do building work around them whilst the houses both sit or do one at a time. It would not be feasible to close the commons for what would be many years

lol what the are you talking about my guy? the last thing the English should be worried about is the group of unremarkable center right Labour technocrats that just got elected. It’s crazy to me that you think there is anything that Labour or any of the other parties could even dream of doing that would be more damaging or dire than what the Conservatives oversaw for the past 14 years with Brexit and the circus of PMs they have had since Cameron resigned. It’s as if some of the Tory party brass saw the writing on the wall for the UK economy and decided to take it out back behind the shed and it finished it off. Now some of our lovely private equity firms are feasting on the carcass of what’s left of it. I hate seeing the amount of suffering their working class people are going through at the moment. Sadly things like their public services, wages, savings, and general standard of living will just decline further and further and unless they convince the EU to allow them back in the customs union and single market that ain’t gonna change for the better.. Don’t get me wrong I think Starmer and his cabinet are snakes who will only sell out and deceive the British working class even further, but it’s incredible how ridiculous and nonsensical this comment is..why are you allowing the Tories a get out of jail free pass when they literally committed economic suicide?! take some advice from me a fellow American and rehabilitate and repair the damage our schizophrenic and lunatic asylum political system has done to your critical thinking mate. And also learn how to divorce things like complex economics from whatever boutique cultural/social right wing issues are currently en vogue.
