In the fifth episode of the season, the Iowa State Men's Basketball team looks for a bounce back win on the road at DePaul. In the win, sophomore point guard and Ames, Iowa native Tamin Lipsey etched his name into the Iowa State record book by recording the seventh triple double performance in school history - joining the company of Tyrese Haliburton, Monte Morris, Royce White, Jamaal Tinsley, Curtis Stinson and Marc Urquhart.
Iowa State then turns their attention to their in-state rival, the Iowa Hawkeyes. Keshon Gilbert was the star of the show on the night as the junior guard tied his career high with 25 points, going 3-3 from deep while dishing out six assists. The Cyclones controlled the game throughout and at one point held a 32-point lead over the Hawkeyes. The 25-point win is the largest by the Cyclones over Iowa in series history. The previous high, 20, was set in 2021, the last time the two teams met in Hilton Coliseum.
