Every fall, New York City hosts Fashion Week where designers from around the globe come to showcase their latest work. NBC News’ Vicky Nguyen reports on how this year a new Fashion Week is born as runways are featuring the creations from several South Asian designers expressing their cultures to the world.

I have a question... Why is India called as South Asia ? I know geographically it belongs there but this video or the show had all Indian wear rather than any other ! Correct me if I'm wrong ! I'm open to different views ! 💕

This is all mainstream lndian not lslamic ok or pakistani, this thing is not allowed back home. South asia can mean monks, taIiban, jungIe tribaIs. Don’t include when others have scissors and hanging on by a thread.

this is cool and i support this - but south asians shouldnt be confining themselves to clothes we've been wearing for centuries. we should take inspiration from these clothes and innovate and really create a forward thinking fashion scene for ourselves
