I learned a lot from this video: 1)Buy a money pit/unfinished house on the cheap; 2)Insure the house; 3)Make sure I'm out of state with an alibi; 4)Burn the place to the ground; 5)Collect the insurance money; 6)"Rebuild" for less than the insurance money; 7)Under the guise of selling the property as a business, sell it for 15x what I paid for it. Cha-ching! hehe

I'm always surprised to see "thumbs down", leaves me scratching my head wondering what is there about it not to like... clearly you have made someone mad, maybe the lady that rammed into your car, the cop who pulled you over... anyway, the likes always far out number the dislikes. Being an Kentuckian and knowing about the castle, it's my first time of knowing it was opened to the public now. Wow, just WOW!! Great vid.

This castle is buildt like a movie set, anywhere you are not supposed to be, corners are cut. Not very beautiful imo, and the fact that it is just buildt like a square on flat land. Little mystery left here. Looks very modern. Edit: Of all things cameraman goes "WOW" to that bathroom 5:46 xD

Great place to fly Ken!! I do find American castles quite funny though, they're so new (1969) compared to our castles in the UK!! On our way through Big Sur, we had intended to visit that well known castle (name has escaped us), but unfortunately we ran out of time :(

It looks absolutely nothing like a German castle. Maybe there's a hint of gothic revival in there but it looks like Norman castle architecture more than anything.

It's a pretty terrible castle, at least if it's meant to be "fortified". It lacks the sort of inspiration you see in actual castles, which are built with their environment in mind. It's rare you would find a castle in Europe that was built in an open, easily-accessible space. The low walls and the comically-large turrets/spires also makes it look like half the wall sunk into the earth below, and if you're making a castle, why omit to include a proper gate? It just seems like a poor imitation to me, as though it was made by someone who saw a drawing of a castle, but never bothered to understand how or why they were built. I mean, I get that it's just meant to be an ornate-looking mansion, but I feel like the money spent building it could've been used to achieve something much better than this. EDIT: What I also don't get is the location. Why would you place it right next to a highway? If it's meant to be a restaurant, sure it makes sense, but its original purpose was as a space for living. Seriously mind-boggling design and location.

That “fire” that happened in 2004 must of been an insurance payout because of how much money the owner must’ve lost dealing with the house.

I have seen the castle when I was kid ...as I was born and raised in Kentucky...I am also a Legend of Zelda fan and love the games so much ...Reminds me of Hyrule castle in The Ocarina of Time... I live in Bavaria,Germany now...So happy to see this lovely place is doing so good now!

the Kentucky castle is around 80 to 100 years old!

*there is something similar to this north of Knoxville too. well there was 20 yrs ago when i lived there. not 100% sure it's still there but i can't imagine anyone tearing it down, i don't remember exactly where it is but it was in the i75 N Callahan road area before you get to Clinton TN going up i 75 you actually pass through a golf course to get to where it's at it was off of beaver creek. You take N Central ave pike to beaver creek right on to beaver then it was about 5-7 miles down on the right. Never mind i just looked it up and progress has taken over the golf course and the house. they have both been seemingly replaced with new housing developments*
