HERE
are the items Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons auctioned off at the end of the original line up's farewell tour in 2000. None of the items seen here are recreations but the ACTUAL stage worn outfits they changed the Rock "N" Roll universe with.
Ace Frehley & Peter Criss did not donate items to this collection and still have many of their original outfits and ( in Ace's case ) instruments.
Peter's drums are here as ( from what he told me in 1988 ) his drums were purchased on the band's credit and therefore ( as he would find out when he was leaving the band ) they were "the band's" drums - NOT HIS - and they would not be leaving with him.
NOTES and
CORRECTIONS :
2:00 - There is a Peter Criss / Dynasty body suit just behind the Gene costume.
2:10 - There was no full bodied Paul "Destroyer" costume ( arms covered by sleeves / dark boots ).
2:36 - This is Gene's original bass from the 70's but he put the studs on it for the Hot In The Shade tour.
2:44 - The drums are the " Dressed to Kill / Alive " drums NOT the Rock and Roll Over tour drums as I mistakenly said.
6:05 - Ace did NOT wear a star covered body suit during the 76 Destroyer / R'n'R Over 77 tour.
7:17 - From what I was told the blade section of that bass was detachable ( photo shoots could get more bloody and then be cleaned or switched out for performance ).
13:03 - Peter's number "3" on the gong AND that's Eric's " X in Sex " video drum kit NOT the " You Make Me Rock Hard " one.
13:26 - There were no full bodied Dynasty tour Gene outfits ( w/larger chest piece , lighter grey shading and his various red capes ). The claws are also missing from the boots.
13:50 - The original album cover artwork for " Carnival of Souls " is along the wall behind the jacket.
13:58 - An authentic Peter / Destroyer body suit ( WITH the sleeves ). Only the sleeveless Rock "n" Roll Over tour version was recreated for the Psycho Circus era which makes this piece especially classic !
14:45 - Guitar was also used on Revenge tour during the few times they played " Tears are Falling " on that tour.
14:51 - On a second look , those drum pieces appear to be too large for Peters black Dynasty kit - which would make them Eric Carr's Hot in the Shade kit.
16:28 - Those appear to be Peter's 1977 Love Gun/ Alive II drums.
19:30 - From what I was told , this robe was a joke gift to Gene from Cher.
20:17 - Actually " Rock and Roll All Nite " is and will always be my favorite KISS song !
