The royals of Monaco have a fascinating history. They’re known as the House of Grimaldi, and the French media have coined the phrase the “curse of the Grimaldis”. That’s partly because of the tragic death of Grace Kelly at just fifty-two in a car crash. The glamorous American actress married Monaco’s Prince Rainier III in 1956, and their son Prince Albert II succeeded his father to the throne in 2005. Albert’s own life has been full of intrigue, with two illegitimate children being acknowledged - Jazmin Grimaldi and Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste - before his marriage to former Olympics swimmer Charlene Wittstock in 2011. Their own wedding was plagued by rumors of last-minute cold feet, which were strongly denied by the Palace. Princess Charlene and Prince Albert are now proud parents to twins Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, and are stronger than ever. But what about their intriguing past? Acknowledging his children, you cannot deny a child anymore at all, especially with DAN and lawyers. Big deal for siring a child with a woman and paying her millions to feed them . no skin off his bankroll, which he never earned or rightfully inherited. See the Grimaldi Nostra when you can.

@@zazabrown732 Many men refuse to take the DNA tests. As a reigning monarch, he could have denied taking the test easily. Initially denying a child may have been for many reasons. The fact remains that he has acknowledged all of his out of wedlock children and cares for them. Morals of an alley cat? Yes. Did the right thing in the end? As much as he could. We live in a broken world, filled with broken people. Put hate aside and wish them all well. Of note and in support of my statement, Bill Clinton has absolutely refused to take a DNA test for his African American son (presumed to be). He has not been forced (nor can he be forced) to take a DNA test. I feel bad for that young man. No test. No acknowledgment. Nothing resolved.

One typo that alot of people keep getting wront. The House of Grimaldi and the Sovereigns of Monaco aren't royal. They're princely and noble. If they were royal their spoken refrence and titles would be "Royal Highness" instead of "Serene Highness." Although they have the titles of Prince or Pincess it is not the same as the sons, daughters or grandchildren of a King or Queen. For example, in german they are known as Fürst/Fürstin instead of Prinz/Prinzessin. Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, daughter of Kate Middleton and Prince William is known in german as Prinzessin von Cambridge, this is because she is the daughter of a Royal Duke and a descendant of Queen Elizabeth who rules over a Kingdom, while lets say Grace Kelly, she was known as Fürstin von Monaco. Fürst or Fürstin is a title given to those who rule over a Principality, that's why in english they are known as Princes/Princesses. The title Prince of Monaco is only Princely and Noble and not Royal.

Monaco is beautiful and exudes wealth. i have had an opportunity to visit Monaco on a number of occasions. i have never seen so many luxury cars in just a few feet from each other. The views from the mountains overlooking the kingdom are incredible.

Ranier and Grace would be so proud of Albert and Charlene...they're doing a great job in their place with their two adorable children! Charlene is stunning and so elegant. The late great beautiful inside and out Princess Grace aka Grace Kelly was a hard act to follow! The best to them all...Caroline has always been a favorite of mine. She certainly had her share of grief and handled it all admirably, ditto for Prince Albert as well.

Far superior to the British Monarchy - at least he owns it and handles it directly. < admirable in this day and age of absentee fathers. But since discovering the sick deprived depths of most of the worlds heads of state, being part of the oligarch system it's difficult to accept and most assuredly makes one wary of the elites as a whole. These reports fueled rum-ours about the couple's marital crisis that had sparked even before their wedding. The week of the wedding, she found out that he had another woman pregnant, which means he was two timing her whilst engaged to her. Princess Charlene must be a very strong person with great knowledge how and when to squeeze teeth. As of Dec. 2021, Princess Charlene is residing at an undisclosed sanitorium somewhere in Europe (outside of Monaco). This comes after her six-month stay in South Africa during which time, she missed her 10th wedding anniversary with her husband. In her most recent social media pics, the princess looks very frail and ill. Apparently, due to her deep unhappiness with her life in Monaco, she has apparently become addicted to several medications. What a mess!

He has recognized both children but he's spent time with only his daughter publicly. His wife was with him. His father set that line of succession up because Albert wanted to recognize his son as heir and he pushed to marry his African girlfriend to make it legitimate. He really loved, supported, and accepted him but kept it quiet because of his father. He asked the mother to wait to reveal their son but I suppose resistance from Prince Rainer pushed her to reveal the boy to the tabloids. That blew the entire thing up. He does support his son, but I don't think he's given him half the recognition as his American white daughter. That may be partly because of Charlene. She's South African and may have an aversion to displaying her husband's mixed race child. However, Albert remembered. He encouraged Harry to marry his mixed race love and be happy. He spoke openly about it. That sweet boy should be in his mid teens by now and he should openly be recognized by the Grimaldi family and allowed to claim his heritage like the daughter did in pictures and visits to Monaco. He and Charlene even went to the US to meet her and she spends time with them in Monaco. But I have never seen the boy with his Dad since he was a baby. Apparently Albert was very fond of his son and visited him a lot. It's sad if he's allowing someone to dictate whether he openly sees his son.

They aren't royal though. Plus its a Principality and not Dukedom or Kingdom. In fact their title although Prince/Princess translates to Fürst/Fürstin in German which is only a noble title. Prince/Princess in German would be Prinz/Prinzessin a title they don't have in German. They are a Princely Family not a Royal Family.

And the deal was: let's both of us live our lives - you give me heirs, you give me freedom and I give you all the money in the world. Monaco is a Principaltity, a Princedom, not a kingdom. There is a Princely Family. Prince Albert"s title is Son Altesse Serenessime le Prince Albert de Monaco. He is not king of Monaco, so there is no royal family of Monaco.
