Troodon has probably the most strategic play style of every creature in the game. Makes it very fun to watch.

Owl, AI don't have organs. Troodon is so much more than a scavenger. When in a group, they can take on anything using their venom, even Stegos. Watch a tutorial on how Troodon's venom works to help you out. Amazing video by the way!

Troodon relies on venom to win most fights. U staying on for longer for a pounce doesn’t increase the amount of bleed/venom being inflicted. Also it’s venom works as a damage multiplier and it works in 3 stages the 3rd one doing the most damage in terms of multipliers. For each stage u hear the troodon make a noise to let u know you’ve moved up a stage. U can’t do a pounce early to advance a stage u have to wait for the noise. Until stage 3 that is where u can pounce as many times as u want to get the most damage dealt. Each stage lasts for 45 secs relatively. U can also smell who has been envenomated the most. It takes 9 pounces for troodon to kill a pachy

*Loved another video! A few tips that should be helpful to Owl and some other players;* 1) 7:27 This Organ is a `Lung`, it will give you Carbs (three dots, yes the nutrients have real names). It must have either gone bad and/or bugged and it didn't fill your hexagon with carbs. 2) 7:44-8:18 You already correct yourself in your voice overlay but yes these are `Intestines` that give you Lipids (two lines Nutrient) 3) 14:36 - 14:59 Only Play Gore/Player bodies (that are small enough for you to 'Thrash') can drop organs when you shake your screen. +(Compies, Rabbits, Chickens, Frogs, Deer, Boar, Goats, Elite Fish, Schooling Fish, Crab; will not drop organs) 4) Incase some are curious the third nutrient is `Protein` (the S nutrient, or backwards Z as some call it) 5) Organs; Intestines give `Lipids` (two lines), Hearts give `Protein` (S/Z), Lungs give `Carbs` (3 dots), and Stomachs give whatever the highest % nutrient of the prey was (highest filled diet slot, if all are filled to 100% then the first/top hexagon is chosen) *Hope this is helpful to you and some others, thank you for posting some Troodon content!

One time I was a Troodon with a couple of people and we decided to fight a stego, we were doing pretty good and we almost got it, but the stego managed to get to its group. We still tried to take him out but because of Troodons hit box we ended up dying and we failed the hunt. Regardless Troodon is still a very fun dinosaur if you’re with friends or randoms. 8/10 gameplay.

when pouncing on something as a troodon after a few seconds you stop biting. this means the venom has been injected and the target is envenomated but after you stop biting it still takes stam but do no extra damage meaning that there isn't really a point in staying latched on. also troodon is stronger when using venom so it would be worth looking at a tutorial. hope this helped :)

Small bodies don't give organs. Also if you attack a body enough you expose the inside and get organs. Also love the vids 👍🏽

love troodon. Its such a nice dino to play and its one of those ones where you have to think while in a hunt due to the fact you die in 1 shot. I feel its best in a group with people you know in vc. I feel thats the best way to play it. However, staying on with a pounce should only be used if you need a safe spot. It simply drain stam. Instead try and hop on for a second, jump off, wait for the sound youll make, and then jump back on. When you hear the very very loud scream that is third stage and then you should just start stacking on those pounces. The venom also gets rid of stam meaning that troodons have recently been the bane of lone stegos due to them completely draining their stam and then timing out attacks to kill them.

I'd love to see some Kenshi done in your style. :) Do be sure to hit it up if you ever get the chance. Some one who enjoys harsh survival games with self made story elements will love Kenshi, and Rim World.

Avoid fighting with your tongue as the nimble Saint, explode anything and everything as the Artificer, body slam your enemies as the chunky Gourmand, swim and out run your enemies as the cute Rivulet, and slowly drain your prey's life as the Spearmaster! Also, there are adorable slugpups to train and take care of now!

If you bite a body enough times it will expose the organs for you to grab, so you don't always have to thrash - especially if the body is too large for you to grab. Great video!

Great vid as always. Small tips: AI doesn't give organs, Only players. You can only do the Thrash if you can fully carry the body in your mouth, Not just dragging it. (if you can sprint with the body in your mouth, you can thrash) The only time you should Stay Attached on a pounce on troodon, is if you can Pin the creature. If you can't pin, you should tap pounce for venom. after you envenomate a creature, you can press Q to Smell, and this will Highlight them with a colored aura thing. The color of it indicates what venom level they are at. Troodons laugh when a creature increases its venom levels, This lets you know when you When you can Inject the next level of venom.

Why do the hands 🫲 of these dinosaurs always seem like they would be useless at carrying anything? Like, the scientifically accurate drawing of Psittacosaurus by Robert Nicholls looks like their hands are meant for holding things. Which makes sense, the dinosaurs would presumably be using them to build nests, carry food, carry their children, grab things to feel them to learn about them, grab the ground to push off it, etc. The hands of the dinosaurs in this game 🎮 makes me question what possible utility they be be optimised for. 🤷

tip: you can't get organs from AI. Also tap pouncing is better with troodon because of the venom. hope this help!🙌

Pro tip troodon is only really good in a pack. You need multiple people if you wanna use Venom well. If you play it again I’d look up a little tutorial on venom and get some packmates

If you'd stayed around longer you would have seen when I came back as a sub adult and had to fight 3 adolescent Carnos and Six Raptors for the meat around the river in the same area I had been chasing you. I managed to win but if you'd been them I'm sure you would have been the difference and would have taken me down 😀 I kept loosing you in the tall grass. Such a slippery little thing. No organs in an NPC btw. Only players.

Tip: your suposse to tap pounce, holding does nothing as Troodon. Also you can't get organs from Ai.

It might be one shot but I feel the safest as the troodon travel wise, and today I literally got a full stomach and diet in the middle of a huge dino skirmish by sitting inside a dead carno and eating

I see alot of people recommending to jump off as soon as possible, I'd say it depends on the situation, if I'm not mistaken you staying latched on also drains the target's stamina, while not very useful playing solo, when in a group it can be useful if someone stays latched on to make it harder for the prey to escape. The other is more to prevent you from getting alt attacked when jumping off, alot of people will try to bite you as soon as you jump off so staying on until they attack will give you a safer escape.

Hey Owl! Do you know how to fix the dx12 error for the Isle evrima? I can't figure it out and I've looked at numerous solutions but none of them seem to work for me, do you know anything? Also amazing video!

Could u play Carno Next it had a stam nerf wich people say ruined the Carno I want people to know that Carno needs more nerfing it’s so hard to kill a carno as a cerato without a bodie Not to mention there alt bite is like quarter a cerato health

I feel like these small dino experiences are so much more exciting than the giants - you're so much more nimble, have so many more immediate decisions to make, and combats are on a knife's edge rather than just "gg more mass". I love seeing the largest possible dinosaur roaring as it claims territory, but these tiny dinos are amazing in their own way :D
