Today we are going to have a look at inside the new air force one and how it could look like. The iconic air force one made by being is one of the most famous airplanes in the world While the current model is very reliable and proofed itself as a good aircraft the time has come that it needs to be replaced by a newer model. Replacing the aircraft with a more state-of-the-art model will reduce the operation costs a lot. And allowed to remodel the airplane floor plane as well as using the latest equipment.

Amazing that American taxpayers are totally fine with all this money spent on their elites private planes while they struggle to pay their bills feed their kids and battle inflation on every single thing that you buy now. I live near Seattle so I've been to the Museum of Flight many times. They have the Air Force One from the Nixon era there you can walk through. More than worth the price of admission alone. Plenty more there to see too. This new one looks like something from Star Trek inside. Build it right the first time and they will last.

I personally prefer the classic AF1 colour scheme. That blue & white with that beautiful lettering is a clear winner for me. Think Jaqueline Kennedy designed it before it was painted. Beautiful.

Can't imagine flying in the new (or current) one. Shoot, flying in first class these days on any airline just means a slightly larger seat and little more leg room. I am old enough to remember when it was exceptional.

You have to see some of the travel reviews on first-class seating, For short trips, you are correct, but for international flights, first-class is amazing,But you pay a lot for it. Last time I flew international , RT coach from NY, to Osaka JA. was about $850,usd,s first class, $23,000.

Chris DIYer Flying in economy 30 years ago was better than First class now. I remember even though I was a kid . I had a full meal and blueberry muffin on my first economy flight. Now all you get is peanuts and doggy biscuits .

it is understanding that the US Air Force said that the underside of the aircraft needs to be a light color therefore, yes you are correct, the old livery will stay.

When you say old, you are correct, the current 747,s are about 35 years old, and 2 of the oldest 747,s of any model are still in service. ,,,The Saudi air force may have one older, not sure.

The White House and Department of Defense recently announced that the livery (or paint job) will not be changed to trump’s preferred colors. The dark blue was found to dramatically increase heat in the lower section of the plane and would have required extensive redesign which would have ballooned cost exponentially. So the traditional, John and Jackie Kennedy commissioned livery will remain.

But they are removing one of the aircraft’s most needed capacities, mid-air refueling. So what if they are low in fuel and there is no where safe to land on the ground in the event of a national security event? And for the governments continuity plan execution, what If the safest place for the leadership to be is in the air? What if all possible landing zones are compromised, overrun by enemy forces? If that decision was made based on cutting costs, it could be in future the most expensive mistake in history.

Yes, Juan, great points. My understanding is that a midair refueling system was omitted because on the previous aircraft the system never saw use. But I agree with you-the system should be there _in case._ Cheers.

I got to see airforce one recently. I was getting a train into Düsseldorf airport and noticed 2 planes one at the terminal and one way off at a hangar on the outer part of airport, one at terminal prob a decoy. My friend googled and sure enough Biden was in Düsseldorf or nearby for something, it was in Feb 2023.

Nope. VC-25B is delayed until 2026. Paint isn't even a factor for four more years. Flight testing won't even start until late 2024/early 2025. That's what the Boeing grapevine said on a bathroom stall at the Shell station on SW 36th Street in San Antonio, TX.

Two IDG generators per engine wasn't mentioned. A typical 747 would have one generator per engine. This requires a specialized accessory gearbox. Not a simple build.

You are going to laugh. Boeing made the LAST 747 in December of 2022. There will be no more. The WH bought used 747s to be turned into Air Force 1.

It is an awesome idea to upgrade the Air Force One for a number of smart reasons. And the cost is probably ridiculously expensive. But no doubt, the current one, and according to how it is described in this video clip, it is a little played out. It needed to be up graded. Although I am looking forward to seeing how it is going to look, and functionalities that are important, I hope Boeing employees work results puts some respect in their passion for building planes because I remember the two 737 Max Tragedy and the fall of Boeing crashing five months of each other resulting to a horrible tragedy of 346 folks. Although respectfully that is a past that cannot be forgotten, God bless the family’s of 346 individuals. Even though some mistakes happen uncontrollably, according to Wikipedia,” Boeing is currently the world’s largest aerospace company, and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, space and systems, and service provider…I am reflecting on the news. With corporate offices in Chicago, Boeing employs more than 140,000 people across the United States and in more than 65 countries.” I hope every stage of the manufacturing phase is thoroughly inspected to ensure that the work results are absolutely perfect. @@kl.8992 Fun fact...they recently delayed the delivery of upgrades to one of the current VC-25A aircraft due to a boneheaded move to take manpower from THAT work and try to bail out the slipping effort on VC-25B. Now both got delayed and B is delayed until 2026. Thanks, Boeing.

Im happy to see the queen of the skies still being used as the presidential plane. Now that the jumbo jet is no longer being produced seeing these will be a sight to see and a rarity and to have it carry the us president is def a great reminder of how awesome of a plane Boeing built.

Reagan Library in Simi Valley, Calif has an Air Force One, very cramped and functional inside, nothing luxurious whatsoever.

They will. The color scheme Trump picked out wasn't practical. The dark colors on the underneath absorb heat which isn't good for a plane that already has a huge heat load.

@@s51curtis I guess you weren't burdened with an overabundance of education. Are we talking considerations for transonic flight? If that's the case, then don't worry...cruise for this one isn't that fast. I also hear that paint is pretty "cool" at reducing aerodynamic friction AND radar signature...but that's just what I hear. If you're worried about having the paint applied on top of the old, they don't do that. Right now, one of the two -25A models is getting paint treatment after sitting in San Antonio for a year. They strip off the old and put the same scheme on. Should be ready around February. Now, run along, kid...ya bother me.

@@crewchief5144 getting rid of me is not that easy. It's simple physics that dark colors absorb radiant heat from the sun. That was the basis of the USAF's objection to the Trump paint scheme. However, this discussion will be rendered moot. Come 2024 Trump's thematic color scheme will be prison jumper orange.

The old livery will stay. "Further analysis concluded darker colors, among other factors, on the underside of the VC-25B aircraft might contribute to temperatures exceeding the current qualification limits of a small number of components".

AF1 airframes are replaced at the end of their service life, and the current planes are 30+ years old. So in 2015, the Air Force ordered 747-Bs as new AF1. That's BEFORE Trump. Trump complained about the program. So the Air Force found 2 limbo 747s and negotiated terms with Boeing. The AF made it happen, not Trump. But he did get an opinion on color schemes. I prefer the Kennedy-era scheme, personally.
