Today we go on a tour of the Pokemon Card Factory! This shows how a Pokemon Card Booster Box is made from when the idea is from to when the booster box is packed and sold on store shelves. #pokemon #pokemoncards #pokemontcg #factory
as a design student this was like a lesson... I'm even more impressed with the thought and care that goes into each card, they really are like a work of art
As someone who recently got into collecting pokemon cards, I now have a new appreciation for my collection. Didn't know so much time and effort went into making them (even the common ones)
You should have that much appreciation for almost anything you have or use in your daily life. Just as you had no idea how much time and effort went into entertainment by the way of essentially a piece of cardboard. Think about the time and effort that goes into developing anything like the car you drive or ride in, the plane that flies you across the world. Just take a minute to think how truly mind blowing what a plane actually does. 150 to 200 ton piece of metal that can stay in the air and take you places. Or something not as crazy, but how about the phone you probably watched this video on. Unbelievably complicated. I love these cards but a video of how they are made didn't blow my mind to where I have a new found appreciation for them. Honestly it shouldn't for anyone, when people take for granted the shit that we use everyday that means nothing to them or do not stop to think about how lucky a lot of us are to have stuff like fresh water, a roof over your head, modern medicine. Even something as simple as toilet paper or plastic cups we use once and throw away. Some people don't have the most basic things in life. But here we are 🤯 over cards. Not trying to be mean at all. Just that statement made me think. And I'm also on the 🚽 right now, and that's where the best food for though rants start. Enjoy💩
Their process seems strict, and I still get full packs of wildly off centered cards. It makes it pretty obvious why PSA 10's are hard to get, because if they are off by even a smidgen during that whole process, there's 1000's of cards just turned to 8s or 9s.
I was concern if my cards are original, because lots of them was off centered, but the firm that sells cards im my country is on the official list of resellers (card are sell in english), so their quality control isn't so great... sadly
As someone who works in R&D for a toy company this gave me a chuckle to see your reaction to the process. Ever in Sydney and want to help design toys give me a holla 😂
If I had that uncut sheet, I would hang it up in thick plastic and maybe sell it someday since it's one of a kind! (I am more of a hoarder than a seller though)
Ando we would be keen to see you in the Pokémon factory finishing in the storeroom and do a double booster case opening, where they let u randomly pick any two cases from the huge selection!! Imagine that! We would lose our minds! Ryan and Mitchell
I love this dude. He was the only pokemon card RU-vidr I like. I use to watch you years ago and I'm so glad your still thriving on YT. 100% deserved. Also helps your the only RU-vidr I know after looking up after a few years still gets very good views. Most big RU-vidrs now that I know gets 50k or below down. You are amazing.
being a 90's kid ive googled this countless time to no luck...its been almost 30 years and there are still very little videos of what its like inside the pokemon card factories...what concerns me is that someone like unlisted leaf had to light the fire to this
So cool, I want that job? (Unless I can find a beer tasting job 1st) I would like to see how they randomized the cards per pack? Great video, great enthusiasm, always a pleasure seeing you get so excited, it rubs off. Be well my friend.
that's pretty cool! back when these cards first came out i was hooked. sometime after they first released, I decided to collect the Team Rocket set and i have only two missing! Also, I'm just curious how did you get an uncut sheet?
I just got a bag of the Trick or Trade packs and the one pack had a Spinarak cut practically in half with the package seal clamped down on the top of the card xD
OMG!! That is soooooo cool I make custom pokemon cards sometimes and those printers are like 100 times the size of my printer! I wish I could open ultra prism but I just can't track it down.
Such a cool process to watch unfold , especially when your a collector or fan of cards , had a proper childish feeling when I saw the blanket of holo’s too…😂🤯 would love to be sat watching how they make up the art works for each cards , I think that would be sick aswell.
wow this was awesome to see i was always so curious how they were made and how long it took... blows me away they can make them so fast.... it also blows me away there are not more damaged cards in packs or booster box's and or i would love to see the "damaged" card piles they have lol.... i could only imagine there are so many damages with each step a card could go through and if things are not in the right place or one little thing messes up it seems like thats 100s of cards screwed and damaged...
I think it would be cool to frame your uncut sheet, but it's yours to do whatever you want with it. As @LauraDora said, getting it cut at the factory would be really cool.
Crazy how every pokemon card you own has been through multiple prints, cuttings and have all been thoroughly examined by hand, *yet we still get many off center, misprints, and other defects*
they don't all get examined by hand. the first print is examined to make sure the machine is working ok.. and the settings are correct - then they print rapidly. It is probably the best they can do but i would assume the machine won't be perfect throughout the whole process.
Security is very tight, my brother works at one of them, it's way tighter than this guy had to deal with on the video. He told me they have a ton of screenings to do before they can leave, on top of different kinds of detectors. This is just the public version that y'all got to see of one.
Most likely they are running these printers at max speed for efficiency over quality when the printer is running at high speeds the sheet can “bounce” causing the cards to be off center when they are cut and trimmed final, it’s common for all types of printing. The slower the machine runs, the easier it is to catch misprints and it’s less likely to bounce.
@@hanksennette1132 see I understand like the high speeds during printings right. But how is it that I get more holos full arts rares etc. that are miss cut off centered like crazy. But base cards seem to be pretty nice.
