Very beautiful But from my side I see some domains where leave very few people As if it is a private project from 2/3 rich guys. If it was an African village we could see a lot of people outside,on the road also but here it seems a museum But very very beautiful AT, tell me if I m wrong

So serene. I schooled in Limuru and the greenery, misty monings and colonial houses are my fondest memories. We used to do cross-country in the tea farms but I didn't appreciate as much as I do now. This video is nostalgic. Thanks African Tigress.

For those who don't know Kenya is the 3rd largest tea exporters in the world, so this village is very rich coz of Tea and its GPD is the same as the the whole country of Rwanda.

Welcome to our village Williams, thats is where i was born and we give thanks to God for such a paradise in Africa a continent that is hated so much,when we travel in abroad we normally get so much of racism just because of our color,..this people not knowing what we have left in our countries. Unfortunately though, the history of this place is land grabbing, eviction and mistreatment of the original land owners by the settler colonialists. The Tigoni people were moved to Lari around 1928. They were awarded 1.5 acres of land for every 1 acre taken but the quality of land in the two places is not the same. There was also alot of pragmatic politics among the collaborator chiefs who took the best land in Lari. Many people were disadvantaged and some even forcefully evicted. This land issue was the root cause for the Lari Massacre in 1953. Read David Anderson: Histories of the Hanged ( Britain's dirty War in Kenya and the End of Empire) for more insight

Wow very picturesque... Problem is at the rate Nairobi is developing & expanding all this beauty will vanish & turn into jungle blocks. Remember Runda used to be the same 30 or 40 yrs ago... The Kenyan govt should create a buffer zone so as to protect this wonderful ecosystem..

I disagree, zoning is highly observed in Kenya especially in residential areas with strict associations. Old runda looks the same, new runda has modern houses but still highly regulated. There's a minimum acreage division observed in Karen as well.

@@lindsieodhiambo4669 Nairobi city actually doesn't have zones. Those that are there were put in place in the 70s and clearly there's nobody to enforce said rules. Look at upper hill. it was zoned for something else and is now a commercial hub. In Runda it's the neighbourhood's association that regulates itself. But this is actually meant to be the government's job

I agree with you. The concrete jungle that Nairobi has become gives me headaches! I am a sucker for nature. Trees, grass, flowers, streams, oceans, birds chirping, you name it. Let's just hope that the masses will not turn this beautiful place into a cabro and concrete eyesore.

Brackenhurst Resort used to be the country home of the British Colonial Governor-Generals of Kenya before our independence. Tigoni and its's environs used to be known as the White Highlands where some of the British colonialists built their country homes away from Nairobi. One can easily mistake if for an English Country side somewhere in Yorkshire, England. The area can be cold and in fact when you built a house here you'll need to include a chimney to keep the house warm.

I wish you took some drone shots. I have been to Brackenhurst many times. On some Sundays, you will find Christians from far and wide being baptized on that river near the entrance. The place is over 100 years old and was established by British missionaries.

Tigoni may be beautiful but it's freezing cold and always foggy. In fact, she picked a good day to go with the sun out and not too many clouds because in July, average temperature is below 10 Celsius.

Brackenhurst reminds me of the Christian Bible Camp I attended in the summers from age 11-17. The houses, church, grounds, and forest look very similar. Love it!

I think some pple were waiting to see big houses. That would only happen with drone footage. In kenya pple value perimeter walls and in this area the houses are very far from the road. In the finest neighborhoods, all you can admire from the road is greenery and maybe a gate, not even a car.

Ain't no place like the 254 in Africa. From your channel I have learnt alot about our continent Africa. I guess the most important lesson is just how I always took being Kenyan for granted but men! @@esem135That's very true. I appreciated Kenya when I started talking with other Africans , some like Chad did not even produce a matching stick. No industry at all. Some West Africans steps in Kenya and they're amazed how developed Kenya is.

@@teresiawachira1034 Most Africans get surprised when they land in Kenya, you even wonder what’s the surprise. Others who thrive and believe in the negatives, mostly exaggerated lies have a very poor image of Kenya. People assume Kenya is just full of wildlife walking all over the streets, slums and starving people. They do not realize there are Kenyans who has never seen a lion for instance. They do not know of the beautiful beaches in Kenya and the many positives Kenya has, including agriculture being Kenya’s largest earner in the economy, yet most people assume it is tourism. The shock is that even with social media, the comments can still be very depressing because of the stereotypes and misinformation over the years. People seriously need to travel beyond their borders.
