What a unique form of dance. I saw it 1 time in a Bollywood movie, for a kings wedding. I was intrigue with it , because I never had seen it before. Thank you so much David for the information about it. 💖
Happy Sunday David. Appreciate your respect of other cultures and sharing your knowledge with. There’s a whole world out there I know nothing about. Thanks for the enlightening.
Music, meditation and dance, this is fascinating. I love content that expands my world view and allows me to see and appreciate diff cultures and customs
I respect sufi islamic people more than the other muslims who preach everywhere. Sufi people are more focused on mysticsm n spiritual they doesn't want anybody to be hurt or comverted tgey solely focused on meditation through swirl n love of allah
Good morning David: nice of you to show this. Did a little research before I make my comment. After reading some of the previous comments, I think that you are being misunderstood. You never said that this was religious and you never said that this had anything to do with Islamic religion, rather than this was a branch of Islam: Turkish Islam to be exact..I have seen this before where they spin really fast. It mind boggling. You would notice that they don't spin their heads, hence the reason why they don't get dizzy. Their feet control the spin. If I try to do that, you would have to pick me up off the floor 😂😂😂. Anyway, this was a nice change and what a fitting time to show it since we are now in spring. New beginnings. I guess spirituality is something that some people don't understand. A lot of people believe in religion but it's spiritual belief in God that carries the day. So, David, your spirit is alive and well. Keep doing what you are doing and with God by your side, you will be ok. Sunday blessings to you, Melina and Siena and the rest of your family. 🙏🤗💕🇹🇹🇨🇦
Very interesting dance....Thanks David for explaining and giving the History and the significance of this dance...now I know. very beautiful....Again thanks and have a safe day. Blessings
Oh wow. Never seen the Whirling Dervishes. Always nice to see and learn different ways cultures respect beliefs .Music and Dance actually is calming and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing this with us learned something new ♥
Just seeing this now somehow! Hope you are having an amazing week Elizabeth. How are you doing? Absolutely this is such a beautiful dance! It was an experience of a lifetime to see it. Sending you peace and love Elizabeth!
This is an innovated form of Islam. Which essentially means it has strayed away from the original teachings of Islam. Whether you accept Sufism or not, it is not part of the precepts that was taught in the Quran or the Sunnahs. One can appreciate this as part of Turkish cultural identity but not as Islamic religion as a whole.
It`s from the Islamic Sufi tradition but Mevalana (Rumi) said he was the friend of 73 religions. The dance takes the practitioner into profound stillness.
ehh more like a religious culture thing. It is both as it is not stated in the religion that you HAVE to do this, but it is not stated that it is not allowed. To say it is just culture is unfair to the fact that for some people- religion IS their culture.
Jasmine edits: David is not in Mombasa Kenya right now. He visited last year to do the series. You are now watching the videos which were all taped. He put out a short video yesterday explaining in order what series are coming up..
innovated type of islam, well, at least they worship Allah, just a little bit misguided or overexaggerated, we all sinned anyway, all of us, any type of islam, may Allah guide us all
No!!!! Islam teacers Quran and Sunnah and music is forbidden in Islam Suffism is a devient sect. Salafism is the only pure sect. Salafism is to practice islam the way the Prophet Muhammad PBUH and his companians practicied
Although I appreciate this channel and the awesome content....I'm sorry to say this stuff has nothing to do with islam... in the traditional sense this is mysticism and Turkish tradition.
It actually has everything to do with Islam. Sufism actually originates at the very beginnings of Islam. You seem to be an expert on what is and what is NOT Islamic. Are you a religious scholar? If you aren't then tell me your reasons why you are you in a position to SAY SO? Are you Allah to sit in judgement about how he should be worshipped? You are wrong on the history, you are wrong on the philosophy, and most of all you are more against the Quran and the teachings of Muhammad. Hold a mirror to your face and gaze upon it and you will see that you are projecting your own self judgement onto others.
@Tas Tasigora nothing you have said is factual... yet pure emotion give me one evidence. From Quran and sunnah that the prophet or companions did any of this ? Did he advocate spinning around in circles? If not look in the same mirror and realise your just following your nafs and nothing more
@@thehomelessproject3784Can you show a verse where Muhammad said not to spin in circles? Arab leaders who succeeded Muhammad turned Islam into a cult of personality more than a religion of God. The entire idea that Muslims can't do anything the prophet didn't do, and must do every single thing he did in the exact same way, is completely baseless.
@matthewkaptena9512 lool is this serious or are you trolling?... and our religion is based upon Qur'an and sunnah.... not just the Qur'an and how we understand it is based upon how the first three generations understood and implemented it.. Al-Bukhari (3651) and Muslim (2533) narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best of people are my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Now the basic principle in islam is everything with regards to worship is forbidden unless we have a sound evidence for it Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would praise Allah in his sermon, as He deserves to be praised, and then he would say, “Whomever Allah guides, no one can lead him astray. Whomever Allah sends astray, no one can guide him. The truest word is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The evilest matters in religion are those that are newly invented, for every newly invented matter is an innovation, every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.” On the authority of the Mother of the Faithful, Umm Abdullah, 'Aaishah, who said that the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu Alayhi Wasallam, said, what translated means, "Whoever introduces into our matter (religion) that which is not a part of it, will have it (his innovation) rejected." Related by Al-Bukhari & Muslim In another narration for this Hadith, the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu Alayhi Wasallam, said, what translated means, "Whoever commits an act which is not a part of our matter (religion), will have it (his act) rejected." Related by Muslim So as you can see you cannot add anything new and claim it to be part of the religion now can you make silly statements such as arabs leaders have made islam into a cult... the Companions and scholars have preserved our religion with Allah's permission.
"Embrace all Humanity with love". Where was their love when they slaughtered all the Christian people, the original citizens of that region? Don't talk about love in that region.
