as a Korean and a Kia supporter, I am happy to see how the employees seem to have pride in Kia. Their sense of ownership is something that the Korean plants can learn from.
Really? Have you looked in the employee parking lot at West Point, GA.? Maybe 2% of the cars in that parking lot are KIAs. Most of them are old worn out Chevys, Fords and Dodges. Why is that? Judging by the parking lot, and the town of West Point it looks like they could care less about KIA. It appears it's just a job to them. Go to the local restaurants and all you will hear is people bitching about their jobs at KIA.
Had two Kia Optimas. A Hybrid built in Korea and a Normal one built in Georgia. There was no difference at all in the quality. They were both built very solidly and had no issues.
Great presentation ! I am now in my third KIA. First one was a 2011 Sorento, put over 75000 trouble free miles on it, had it in for normal service and saw an 2013 Optima Hybrid, drove it and traded in the Sorento.. Also completely trouble free. I have since retired and am not traveling as much so have traded in the Optima on a Soul + . Fun Car, good mileage and as about as a practical car as you can get. Keep up the good work KIA!
Yes. I cannot see Telluride often in Korea. and All of them are imported from the United States. I heard the car is fit to wide and long roads in America.
I worked at a Kia dealer for about 4 years. Every new car that came off the truck had at least 5-10, or sometimes even more, miles on it. Meaning it was tested at the factory. This is not just for show, this is a fact.
@Bobby Brady stuff like that is straight from the line to the train. Telluride is made to "mildly offroad" so needs extra test to make sure its all good to go.
I was living in Atlanta at the time the kia plant was being built. I moved to NC shortly thereafter, and now in Alabama. I go back and forth to Atlanta, and just a few days ago I got off the Exit for the Kia plant to get a close up look! I do some brokering for a local Kia dealership, and got a chance to drive that Moss green loaded up model shown in the Commercial, just days after they hit the street! Awesome vehicle! @Justin White The Hyundai plant in Montgomery also offers tours, and it’s less than 100 miles southwest of West Point. I never thought the day would come that Hyundai and Kia are making some of the most reliable vehicles on the road in the USA, but that’s what’s real. Look at Consumer Reports. I can remember when all Hyundai was selling were Yugo-quality Mitsubishi Precis cars.
I use to be a VW owner. I jumped ship to KIA. I’m very happy with my switch. I just bought a 2022 KIA Seltos SX turbo. I think my next vehicle will be the Telluride. The lot was very empty in Sept 2021 do to the chip shortage. KIA has really come a long way. I love there new Logo. it’s very modern! 👍👍
This is what KIA needs to do. Keep putting out videos showing their commitment to making a vehicle that not only passes initial testing but ages and lasts for the long haul...just like a Toyota!
ohmypepper looked at one today...hard to find them. Call before you go to make sure they have them. Pretty impressive vehicle but was not able to test drive it. They only have sold vehicles in stock since they are on order. Was told there is about a 3 month wait from time of order (in Colorado). In an MDX now that has 105k miles on it. Starting the search and started here.
Dave Evans I own a MDX too and it's amazing. Spacious interior and good cornering, and rear captain's chairs. I'm thinking of getting a new escalade or a new q7

Lol funny you mention that, Kia was buying us really expensive fancy food during our time in L.A, but the best food we had during the trip was the southern meal we had at the factory! Amazing fried chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese... getting hungry thinking about it right now! 😂

I love that this car is made in America.....I would never by a cheap knockoff like Ford or GM with a car like this. The design, quality, price, warranty..... foreign cars like GM and Ford just can't compete....just asked them. Their (GM, Ford) plants are in Mexico and Canada and sell at higher prices. Love Telluride !!
Honestly, I’m looking to get an SUV and have considered the Hyundai palisade, the Kia telluride, the Lincoln aviator, or the new Genesis SUV that’s gonna be coming out. The one item that steered me away from the telluride is the fact that it’s made in the United States whereas the Hyundai palisade is made in South Korea... my experience with American made automobiles has always reminded me to buy Asian manufactured automobiles, the quality is just that much better. With that said,I am encouraged at the pride and steps made in making the Telluride here in the United States. It gives me faith that they are doing a quality job in the manufacturing process which would yield long-term trouble free enjoyment. I think I may take a chance on buying an American made Telluride in 2020.
As someone who works with these cars every day as a tech at a kia dealer and an owner of an optima. These cars are amazing and this auto manufacturer has come miles from where they were 10 years ago

How close are you to the West Point plant? Definitely highly recommend going sometime if you can! We loved hanging around Georgia and we even got some good southern eats! 🤤🍗🍛

Had some initial issues with my 2022 telluride but Kia fix it. I don't regret getting the telluride and highly recommend it over other luxury cars. Also I have mine fully stocked and equipped with all options. The MPG is amazing for a v6 and better than my 2016 kia sorento v6.
FWIW I live semi close to both of them. I have been to Hyundai but not Kia. I’m really impressed with what both companies are doing in the southeast. Another cool place to visit is the Mercedes Benz factory in Vance Alabama, near Tuscaloosa.
We tried to get a tour of the west point plant. Emailed them and got no response. However the Telluride had just came out, maybe thats why. Although I would expect at least an email back. Very cool plant though
If only they’d do this for the Sportage line as well! Right now my vehicle is continuing to have the same body weld issues that haven’t been addressed after 6 trips to 4 dealerships. If I get the chance to change to a Telluride I would be so happy!
I connect the airbags, radio screens, audio and heat controls, vents and hvac units on the cockpits for the optima/k5 tellurides and sorento at mobis. Which is connected to KIA
Awesome video. I am considering a Telluride as our next family vehicle and its great to see some of the processes and people behind the curtain. They appear to have their stuff together down there at the factory.
Thanks! One of the things we were most struck by was that they are not increasing production of Telluride to keep up with demand. They said they aren't willing to compromise quality by pushing too hard

It’s interesting you mention how the workers are trained to feel any gaps or imperfections on the exterior. Savagegeese just did a video on the bullit and noted how poor the fit and finish of the exterior is.
Wonder if they got an early production model? I’m extremely annoyed by large or asymmetrical panel gaps or loose pieces that you can press on and they move too much, and I’m so pleased with my Tellurides exterior

Hello I am Korean that our family car is a KIA Carnival 2016 and KIA SORENTO 2021. SO I have a Question why does the kia telluride not coming into south korea? I am angry that telluride is nor come in to south korea
I got tired waiting till they build one for me. As off September 2020, local dealer's inventory in SF Bay Area is almost empty. I was able to find a only car which was matching my requirements about 140 miles away and that dealer was asking $4k markup on top of MSRP. So, i bought VW Atlas instead and happy about it.
Can someone explain why no one has any stock of 2021 Tellurides? Was there a Covid factory closure in 2020? Everywhere you read you have to factory order one - US and Canada.
