I worked on Flip for 8 years and was on her last expedition. Truly one of a kind. A tree house one the water.

bit sad Flip was decommissioned. Unless it was very broken, I’m sure it’d have been useful enough to keep in service, you know scientists, they’d have thought of some weird use for it lol

I'm quite afraid of open waters. My question, how terrifying is the process of turning the vessel? Is it like a sinking ship simulation? How was the feeling of the first time it "flipped"? What kind of training did you experience before going on your first operation? Kudos to you, bet there are a hell of great stories from your work!

FLIP was unfortunately taken out of service in 2023 due to it's age and too high maintenance costs. It's currently sitting in a shipyard in mexico waiting to be scrapped.

Most dangerous guys out there were the F.N.G's. because they were the 'know-it-all' after a cool 24 hours in country. Yes, I understand the term acronym.
