Karen is a suburb area and though rich people live there, it is not the wealthiest neighbourhood in Nairobi. Muthaiga could be said to be the wealthiest neighbourhood with residents like the American and British ambassadors live, also late President Mwai Kibaki and Mama Ngina Kenyatta live. In fact, the price of land in Karen is not so different from land in Kikuyu. That said, majority of the Kenyan Whites [formerly British settlers] reside in Karen.
