Introducing Seascape, the world’s most remote cabin located in the stunning South Island of New Zealand. Capturing the beauty and serenity of this extraordinary place was truly a pleasure for our team. We hope you enjoy watching this unique feature as much as we did creating it. This project is also featured in our latest hardcover book series, Habitats: City, Coast, and Forest, where we explore remarkable spaces like Seascape that harmonise with their natural surroundings, see here for more: thelocalproject.com.au/product/habitats-city-coast-forest/
Love it! ❤ You did a great job filming and putting this video together. I tried online to search for rental information, but I found nothing. Do you have contact information please?
Now that’s the masterpiece…. And I am not only talking about the architecture, design or location. The cinematography deserves Oscar. Like literally, guys, you did an incredible job. I wish you had Netflix series, or longer videos, cause I would binge them 24/7. ♥️
Thank you so much! We’re over the moon that you enjoyed not just the architecture and design, but also the cinematography. The team put a lot of heart into capturing every moment, and your kind words mean the world.
Honestly that was unreal! It even looked like CGI -too beautiful to be true but the local project has been serving us top end cinematography for years now! Thank you
I had the great good fortune to visit both islands of New Zealand. The topography took my breath away. Exquisite and unlike any other place in the world! And I have travelled on every habitable continent -- this location is magnificent !
The combination of Seascape’s location and its simple, cozy design truly creates something extraordinary. The views are so striking, they almost feel otherworldly, yet the space remains warm and inviting. It’s a rare and breathtaking beauty that captures the essence of serenity and wonder all at once. We’re delighted that you felt its magic!
But not degrade it beyond repair for nothing but irrational greed. Now pan to a slum in any corner of the world, and then pretend we can all live a billion dollar lifestyle in NZ.
The earth was created by God, and He gave dominion of it to man. Man despised God and sinned against Him. Yet in His love, He became a Man. The Father sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, God took on flesh in order to save us, to take the wrath we deserve, to pay the debt we owe. Our guilt was placed on Him and He paid the debt in full, being crucified by His own creation, the Father's wrath placed on Him in our place, and He died, was buried, and was raised on the third day. He Is Lord of all, and all who believe in Him, who call on His name will be saved. He paid our debt and He credits His own righteousness, the very righteousness of God to those who believe. We can do absolutely nothing to earn anything but God's wrath, but God Himself paid the price we owe and gives us grace because of His love. Turn to Him and live.
@@KittiesdawnThis is a sad and irrationally pessimistic view. Yes we’ve done immense wrong to the planet, and yes we should always strive to do better and reverse our damage, but we still are and always will be children of this planet.
"Kind of blends in" I love the fact that he didn't say it blends in. There've been features of houses, which stick out like a sore thumb, but the architect says "it blends into its environment". Here, on the other hand, the house is literally part of the hill and you can barely notice it from the ocean, yet he still chose not to say that it blends in. Humility is an art form.
@@mrdeanvincent this one doesn't blend in either . We built far more natural buildings over here . what on earth is wrong with architects these days ??? Our ancestors with ropes and planks of wood built millions of buildings which were far more naturally shaped and in keeping with their landscape. Ive helped build some by hand myself . Is it time for women architects to take over or something ??
@@mythtree6348 Well I guess it depends on what you mean by blending in, but I think the demand side of the equation is the biggest reason we don't see more natural houses that are hidden in the landscape. In any case, I would love to see more women architects!
@@mrdeanvincent It's fascinating how my friends would design and build pointy sharp buildings and I would go take off all those edges and make things round . I think cooperation is needed . Even properly round houses are wonderful . There's a big outbreak of cubes here in the Scottish wilds and it reminds me of that song about little boxes made of ticky tacky . I'm sure we can do better :)
Our team definitely put in the time to capture the stunning range of weather and light in this unique location. It took some patience, but the results were well worth it. We're so glad you appreciated the effort!
This one in particular is a masterpiece, I am 25 years old and in construction as a block mason and solid renderer and I've never seen such craftsmanship in my life, will definitely build myself a replica of this same design but with a more timber focused architecture
Thank you so much for your kind words David. It’s a privilege to discover and share these extraordinary properties with a community that appreciates them as much as we do. We’re grateful that you continue to join us on this journey and that these stories resonate with you.
Hands down, one of the best videos I've seen from the Local Project. Such a beautiful way to showcase the masterpiece of this little hidden gem. Thoroughly enjoyed the video so much! Thank you ❤
We're thrilled that you enjoyed the video and felt it showcased this hidden gem so beautifully. It was a joy to create, and hearing that it’s one of your favourites from The Local Project means a lot to us.
Not sure why, but this was an emotional video to watch for me. Such an astonishing structure in the most beautiful cove. Congrats on this incredible film.
I've watched these videos for a while, and have loved some projects and not liked some others - but I've never left a comment until now. This is an architectural masterpiece in a location that I could happily stay in for the rest of my life. What an amazing 'tiny' home in a stunningly beautiful, serene place. Kudos to the architect and his team!
We’re honoured that this project moved you to comment. Seascape is indeed a masterpiece, and we're thrilled it resonated with you. Thank you for your kind words - kudos to Andrew and team for bringing this vision to life.
In general, your videos are excellent. But somehow it seems that you have put extra effort in making this one. Sponsored or not, it is a masterpiece. The property, its surroundings, and the views are exceptional.
Thank you so much for noticing the extra effort! We're proud to say this video isn’t sponsored, just a labor of love to capture the true essence of such an exceptional property and its surroundings. We always strive to create something special, and we're thrilled that this one resonated with you as a masterpiece.
Stunning - with the dramatically beautiful view and nature-scape, you don't need more than 2 rooms and a small outdoor perch - that's what amazing design is all about. Keeping it discretely tucked away to blend into its surroundings, but designed to maximize the view and experience. Love this, also the shots of the surrounding natural, wild beauty - even the music in the video! Breathtaking.
Wow!! Where construction blends in with Mother Nature. This is stunning! I can just imagine falling asleep with the sound of the waves. Unspoiled nature that should be respected at all cost.
Ritual lives of a couple, bathing, sleeping ... I honestly wasn't aware only couples bathed and slept, and here ive been all my life thinking everyone bathed and slept ... This has changed my entire perspective on life and how i was living it while single - Thank you so much.
I love it. Love how it is hidden in nature so that it respects it. All houses should be thought like this ! Gorgeous. Less fan of the people going to this house with helicopters, and the privatization of the whole zone, basically reserving a part of nature for very rich people. But eh, that’s our world!
I love the idea of this house build into the clift, trying to simulate being a natural rock, and yet it is architecture. Its gorgeous. But at some places it seem to be more into showing architecture and design, than to show and make nature play a more natural role inside the house.
perhaps this project should be a classic study on beautiful architecture ... form and function extraordinaire ... ! a place i'd want to visit . sam from kenya
Oooh my God ... heaven Paradise on Earth ...The most Fabulous BEAUTY....made me Smile all the time watching this video, Awesome am Awestruck ...I just wish i have a stay in this honeymoon cottage wth my Dearest ones...b4 I leave this Heavenly SEASCAPE HONEYMOON COTTAGE & Mother 🌎 ...WOAH I NEVER FELT SOOOOO IMPRESSED B4 ..😇😇😇❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🧢👒 INDEED YOU ARE GODBLESSED..🙏🙏 RIGHTEOUSLY SAID THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE A SECRET🤫😃🥰
Literally jaw-dropping. Has to be the most amazing location to have a extremely private residence. I am adding this to my bucket, may god help visit this plays once in my lifetime
Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed the music, it really does set the tone. Adding track details with timestamps is a fantastic idea. We’ll definitely keep that in mind as an extra for future videos.
Hey Y’all…..Hear Me Out…..Without the title or voiceover or caption, you could easily think this was a car commercial for like Audi or Land Rover 😂😂😂😂!!!!!!!!! Amazingly beautiful property though ❤
A house in a location similar to this one has been my dream for years, secluded, calm, by the ocean, hidden in the hills, all elements of nature, absolute tranquility .❤❤❤
What a sublime location, i could easily picture myself living here, the fact it’s remote makes it more captivating. I imagine observing the change of weather and seasons and just being… ❤
Yeah, I’d add that the indecent aspect of it is how little new or original is said in the language of architecture. It’s Richard Neutra redux or a warmed up version of van der Rohe. All that pristine nature spoiled, and for what?
"Powerful waves coming in just metres away from you... and as the storm surge picks up... less metres away... jeez... getting pretty close now... centimetres away from you... spraying on the 180 degree undulating glass wall... really pounding on the glass now..." One day in the next 100 years this building will just be gone one morning. Enjoy it while it lasts I guess?
A true oasis! That somehow, even though it misses fruit trees 😊, looks like paradise ❤, amazing what you have been able to create and the feeling is just great, thanks for sharing & inspiring 🙏🏽🙏🏽
This house is stunning. And the video is perfect and welcoming. But if someone of two people stay overnight, where would they store their food? or do you just don't eat?
I was looking to see if anyone else had that question. So many rocks on the steep slope above the house. They could have more of a connection with nature than they expected.
Very poetic storytelling and sublimely artistic building. I wish everyone had the chance to connect through such a place with mother earth and father sky, not just those with a private helicopter.
*Larry Burkett's book on "Giving and Tithing" drew me closer to God and helped my spirituality. 2020 was a year I literally lived it. I cashed in my life savings and gave it all away. My total giving amounted to 40,000 dollars. Everyone thought I was delusional. Today, 1 receive 85,000 dollars every two months. I have a property in Calabasas, CA, and travel a lot. God has promoted me more than once and opened doors for me to live beyond my dreams. God kept to his promises to and for me*
It is the digital market. That's been the secret to this wealth transfer. A lot of folks in the US and abroad are getting so much from it, God has been good to my household Thank you Jesus
I love this subtle elegance working into nature with a modern twist, easy to enjoy life and maintain without huge amounts of space to clean and take care of.
