The Heinz factory in Wigan, England, is the largest baked bean factory in the world. The factory was opened in 1959 and currently produces over 3 million cans each day. The beans are shipped from North America and rehydrated once they arrive at the factory. They are blended with a secret mixture of spices and tomato sauce. The ingredients are steamed inside of the can.
Over 2.5 million cans of Heinz Beanz are sold every day in the UK, making it one of the most popular foods in the country.

@@jimnickerson3848 bulshit. I was forbidden to eat meat because of the tainted blood. And I didn't eat meat for a month and replaced it with Heinz beans. The blood has become ideal in terms of norm and I have not been sick for a year and a half. Exactly from the beginning of 2020. I swam in COVID-19 and nothing.

@FEC Multimedia Nothing, as the plastic isn’t heated to a high enough temperature to cause any harm. Take sous vide for example; food is cooked in plastic bags, but because it isn’t hot enough to degrade/melt the plastic, it’s perfectly safe

Its a great British delicacy, especially if you are a UK student - Beans on toast. We had a lot of US students in our halls of residence, and they thought they sounded revolting. Until we made beans on toast for them, they could not believe how good they were, and it was a new staple for them. The other Student food in the Uni cafe is cheese and chips.....that is another meal that all students love.

I live less than 20 miles from Pittsburgh (Heinz US), and tried their baked beans after a British friend recommended them on toast for breakfast. Now all I keep asking myself why on earth this hasn't caught on here! Im hooked.

In my country we cook the beans in our homes, a portion everytime we want to eat. In the market it's sold in 1kg packages. We rarely seen caned beans around here.

I had never seen Heinz beans for sale when I lived in the US (only the ketchup), even though I had lived in Beantown MA! Every city has a food it's known for and for Boston that would be beans. There were some nice varieties of beans to get though.

Does Heinz Beans have a factory in America? Ive been trying to find affordable/reasonably priced Beans in Tomato sauce, but have no luck. My stores sell Heinz for about 4.00 a can. And they are always beat up cans. (i guess the rejects?) If theres a way i can order/buy cheap, Heinz Beans... can someone point me in the right direction?

I get what is called pork n beans in tomato sauce. Any brand.baked beans is beans in a barbeque sauce in America. Pork n beans is a thin tomato sauce. It's the closest thing I've found.

The closest thing I can find, domestically produced, is the store brand vegetarian beans in tomato sauce, but they're not quite as tasty.

Maybe try making it yourself? It's a pretty low brow, simple dish. Cook beans and add a mix of tomato sauce, worchestire sauce, sugar and vinegar. Adjust to your liking. Bacon drippings or pieces of pork bone might be good too. It's not complicated.

I'm from Pittsburgh, the birthplace of the H. J. Heinz company and I still consider Heinz Beanz to be a purely British food. I would love to get my hands on a real, authentic, made in UK can but they're actually a little pricey online.
