the tribal woman you had talked about earlier on the video had a bai on her name, which also had a royal title being a female chieftain on her village.and as a former student activist during college days,we are always wearing native bracelets and necklace, tubao (native handkerchief),tinalak (being made as bags, wallets and coin purses) and batik (native clothe) as a form of solidarity and patronizing our local products (now it's available online).and as a fashion trend among activists regardless of our political affiliations and inclinations.anyway, congratulations for showing the diversity of our cultures and traditions.❤✌️💪🙏🇵🇭
@@DodoExplorers its datu,in southern mindanao.but in the northern part of the country, like in cordillera where baguio city is located its pangat.both the southern and northern tribal groups in the philippines have a rich history on survival, tribal politics and their struggles that extends during the pre-hispanic,spanish period, ancient chinese business and foreign relations, american and japanese colonial period and with the imposition of martial law before.because they are defending their ancestral lands and many people had shed blood on these.and this were translated into books and films.(i used to watch many of these action movies when i was a kid and a teen just for fun and entertainment.i think some of these are available on yt.but i dont understand yet about their politics at that time.😊)some of these personalities have strong following on their respective communities until now like nur misuari, the late hashim salamat, ahod ebrahim, macliing dulag and conrado balweg, the latter both dead.in fact, misuari's troops ( the moro national liberation front with members on so called tri-peoples of mindanao-muslims,christians and lumad/ indigenous peoples had not only rebelled against the phil.government but also against malaysia to take back sabah in 2012.supposedly,the mnlf wanted to secede from the national government and form a separate secular government.while the moro islamic liberation front which now leads barmm are all muslims.and wanted an islamic one.fortunately, both in the southern and northern part of the philippines had now some sort of autonomous government, especially in muslim majority parts of mindanao.the bangsamoro autonomous region of muslim mindanao (barmm) now led by milf. that's why many of their arms are already been decommissioned and many of their members had either been integrated in the armed forces of the philippines and the philippine national police or had gone back to civilian life.
Oh wow, such an informative, knowledgeable and interesting "documentary" about the different tribes from Davao. Gigi, you look lovely in that tribal outfit, so is Mike...very handsome. Great to watch you both taking part in their traditional dance. Well, l would say it's quite similar to those tribes from Sarawak and Sabah( Borneo ) Thank you very much for sharing, Mike & Gigi.
Wow indeed you’re soo lucky to experienced those kind of events. I lived 21yrs in Mindanao before I came here in ‘Kuwait but I never encountered like those events in my life. ❤
I do understand that in your culture the host has to eat first. But in our culture in the Philippines, we let the visitors eat first. This is how we show hospitality.
Same in our case 😁 the host has to touch the food first cause it's his food, if he chooses to put it on his plate or someone elses that's his choice but it's considered rude if you touch someone elses food unless he touched it first 😅 sounds a bit weird but well that's how my Mom raised me 😅🤷♂️
Heard the news last night, 2 policeman were killed by warring tribesmen in Kalinan, a district of Davao City! violence could erupt anytime the police will not let this incident be.........
That wont happen kababayan kaming ta ga mindanao ay sumusunod din sa batas nang ating bansa ang batas na ang bahalang humabol sa may sala maging ano at sino ka😍😍😍
That incident was already under control by the police. The one of the Culprit died during that encounter and the other one is already been arrested in a pursuit operation. This is Davao City, we value peace more than ever. By the Way..... Your name is what Im worried about my friend... Mandurugas means A Conman, A thief and a Criminal. 😂😅
