Thanks. That's a pretty nice summary without actually violating your NDA. Despite being just a home user, I had always felt UniFi had lacked true enterprise hardware and software. One of the common feature in enterprise gear that UniFi lacks is real radio resource management (dynamic, auto channel adjustment, power adjustment), is this part of their enterprise plan? Another piece is from what I can tell their recent generation product lines remained chipset that is more for home use rather than enterprise graded ones (even Eero, Orbi top line now use enterprise chips), do you think their upcoming "enterprise" gears actually use those ones? Ubiquiti has a unique business model. No sales force, no hierarchy (except Pera), just engineers with lots of money left for R&D. If they don't want an Enterprise partnership program, it's probably because they don't want to have to raise prices on the end customer. Every year, Ubiquiti is making a higher percentage of their sales direct to consumer. Last year they reached around 40% of total revenues. If they can figure out how to keep things in stock while raising their channel inventory maybe it is corporately ready but we are just not used to this model. I rather they invest every dollar in trying to compete with the big guys and keep prices disruptive. Sure they'll need to compliment their channels with partners like SMB at some point but I don't expect them to go full traditional roadmap, they are not a traditional company. I might be wrong but I think thats how it might play out. Maybe people wont be comfortable buying enterprise from a company like that but they are who they are.
Great summary of the day. I thought UI did a good job with all the Q&A. Robert Pera could get geeky with the best of them and his team didn't shy away from questions either. It made for a very informative time.
How accommodating are they for End Users or is this strictly aimed at companies/resellers? Did any End Users attend? I see on their registration page they have a section for End Users but the form for registering asks for business info.
