Apologies for the tilt and flickering lights. Uploaded it since I thought it may be helpful for students of architecture or those who want to visit/revisit the place. Recorded with an iPhone 7 mounted on Zhiyun Smooth 4

I became so interested in the family story behind this building that I read the book The Sunny Days of Villa Savoye by Jean-Marc Savoye who is the grandson of the couple who commissioned the project. A small book which tells the story so well with blueprints of the original design before it was changed. My sympathy to the family having to deal with the severe leaks, dampness and heating problems for all the years they lived there.

This is a fantastic tour. I have read all about the problems the family had in trying to live in this house. Now I was able to see exactly what they had to deal with. This house has managed to survive through severe times and I respect it for that.

Best walkthrough available on youtube as far as im aware. Only one with a dynamic, non-nauseating camerawork and no music! thx for uploading

And here was me thinking this was too claustrophobic and too fast. If this is the best I am to expect I may as well not bother looking elsewhere.

If I was a millionaire I would build an exact copy, while correcting the structural flaws in the process. Beautiful house, perfect!

A history lesson in what not to do. It is not a comfortable house to live in and is a series of loosely linked spaces. But what a cool looking floorplan. Welcome to the machine.

No idea, Nick, sorry. I visited just once around this time last year, and am not aware of what changes they made since.

It was better to remove the audio that creates confusion but the video is interesting.

This video really hilights the sound reverberation in this house. Also, this style was embraced by the commercial sector due to its efficiency, thereby forever poisoning it as a design philosophy that the masses could embrace for their own homes. Who wants to come home to a building that is exactly like the building they work in? (I apologize for using the word ‘style’ in reference to a Corbu building).

Reverb only because of lack of furnishings, like all houses.

Affreux ! La famille Savoie a été confronté à des pbs d'infiltration d'eau ! Une arnaque ....😅😅😅😅

You have shallow taste

@@JaimeValladares00 The house is over budget and the owner that commissioned the home only live for short period of time because of all the problems. More like a building that is cool to walk around but not live in, it’s ugly with no any design elements that connect with emotion just cold home ngl

@@viraksomethenbong5295 Same kind of people who will call the office skyscrapers of the 1960s bland & boring without ever noticing that the functional attributes of the design is what ultimately matters & plays into the art. The house is the first of its kind so of course there’s going to be issues, but it sets the basis of what function over form can be. People with no taste would prefer it to be all glass which is something to actually complain about in architecture

@@JaimeValladares00 i mean you do you man but i just cant pretend this is a good one cubical building is never an interesting design anyways you think nobody knows how to make sure that a building fit the most people it just that they chose to compromise it for a better design just like nowaday we move towards inspiring design than soviet style. He also plan to redesign Paris with soviet style apartment building it would be sad if they approve but it got rejected, maybe you like it but i dont sorry...

This is one of the best videos on this place, and I've watched many others. No architect explaining the place, but such intense up-close views and perspectives are even better. Seeing tourists roaming around it really helps depict the scale of the place, too. I had been curious about hallways, doorways, connections, where the stairs top out, what it would feel like under the overhand on the terrace, what the kitchen and bathrooms look like in detail, etc. and this answered all my questions. Thank you for posting.

It reflects utmost luxury. For example, the rear ground level wall is curved for cars to access the head in parking. What type of car was used for this turning radius? The Duesenberg, of course.

Horrible!!!
