Coach, Great video👍I’m curious as to how many formations you plan on using. I run a very similar offense and always struggle limiting myself with formation / motion. I love to running the same play with added wrinkles each week, but I found my guys making more mistakes in the process.
Hey Coach Mac, thank you for all he football material. Switching back over to the OC side this year and these concepts are very similar to what I am doing with our Inside game as well. Do you run outside zone also? Do you use different tags with that as well? Thanks Coach. Stay safe
Coach - Are you going to carry both IZ and Wide Zone this year? I would prefer to only carry Wide Zone but be able to have all the tags and RPOs that you talk about in this video. Do you think that is possible, or is your IZ going to have all of this stuff, and the WZ be only for pistol turn and hand/naked boot stuff?
We will not run Wide Zone from an offset back position so we need to be in the pistol. That means we can only use movement passes and action passes with Wide Zone. We will carry IZ for RPOS
By putting your FB/H in a Sniffer position, I assume you gain positioning and blocking advantages. Can you address why those are worth it rather than always having them go into a split back formation and using a bit of motion for position blocking advantage instead? I would assume that the latter would allow you to line up a bit faster and give away less of your strength, and allow you to build in more old school veer stuff. Stay safe coach.
Split backs certainly helps with less sniffer based tendencies and some motion for leverage stuff, but you can't kick good defensive ends out from that depth. Everything gets spilled
@@CoachMac Succinct answer. Thanks! I take it that is why you have a separate three back heavy package with sniffers apart from your Diamond formation package. I hadn’t listed to that because it seemed like one too many formations. Gonna have to listen to that now.
