Hi Jack, occasionally there are in house migration processes from on-call to whole time firefighters but this is not the norm and there is no guarantee applications through this route would be successful.
On-Call firefighters are paid for the work they do for us along with a retaining fee for being available. For more information visit our website www.notts-fire.gov.uk/nfrs-careers/need-more-on-call-recruitment
My advise would be to speak to your local on-call fire station about your availability and if it fits with what they require. As for English and Maths there is a basic entry test to take along with the fitness tests.
@@nottsfire999 hi I did the man who dose the meeting for Towster there was 2 of us soon as I said I have Dyslexicer he seem to only talk and look at the other guy felt so bad the man was rude I feel Im fitter and I can get on well with any one some one needs to call up and hold a meeting to discuss how to help people with Dyslexia before it gose in the papers thank you tho
It’s paid and so it should be,I did 36 years and loved it,but you have to be committed giving up holiday to complete courses etc,and a good stepping stone to go onto whole time.look on line to view the National tests and what’s involved or better still go to the stn and express and interest in joining
There is no upper age limit, we welcome all applicants. Why not have a look at our job-related tests ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yu8nzMgvvlg.html or check out our website www.notts-fire.gov.uk/nfrs-careers/yesyoucan for more information.
