Insights into the CoLab: Precise positioning of pneumatic axes using SCHUNK PPD 

Pneumatic axes have many advantages, for example they have a high force-to-volume ratio and are very robust. However, they have disadvantages in terms of their controllability, as pneumatic axes can only move to two target positions (fully retracted or extended).
With the SCHUNK PPD, however, a pneumatic axis can now also assume any intermediate position. The PPD uses a sensor to monitor the current position of the axis and regulates the exact positioning.
