I used the original and I opened the compartment next to the glovebox and stuck it to a piece of chassis metal. The signal was perfect. I don't have pictures as I sold the car last year.
hia mate did u have to damage any of the existing brackets to get it to fit? i ordered one from china and to get it to fit id need to break the existing bracket that holds the old cd player in,, im sending back as i dont want to damage any of the existing brackets..

Hi there - I'm pretty much identical to you mate.. I have an old 8" android unit too in my insignia and am looking to swap out, the radio is screwing up now! Couple of questions, are you still happy with it, how is RDS radio reception and finally when you stream over bluetooth does it send track info - as you know the old version you could just pause / skip. Its so, not perfect. Am radio doesn't work, but having the android apps makes up for it 100%. I'd buy it again even with its flaws. Bluetooth is ok although when on calls I think there is an echo.

Hiya mate. The steering wheel controls are fine. After using it for months, it's been great. No noticeable lag as the months have gone on. I wish it was using a new version of android though. The one issue I've had is sometimes the sim card is not recognised. Not sure if that's a fault of mine but it does it now and again.

Haha thanks. Well I actually sold the car a year ago but it was working up until that point. It was OK when I had it, a little flaky but non the less improved my experience in the car when driving.
@@scrappmutt2 I didn't get it, yet to be honest with fuel prices such as they are owning a diesel is getting ridiculous, plus living in the next proposed ULEZ means I'll likely be part exing my car soon anyway!
Hello I know this video is old but wondering if I install this unit in place of CDC400 of my Insignia will the parking sensors still work? can I still have access to the vehicle settings? like the door locks (open the 4 doors or only driver's door lock etc...) kindly advise
I just set one up was easy basicly you can't mess up where the 4,6,8 pin go due to the fact there is only one place they can go. The Mic goes in the small hole the antenna goes in the large hole. It's pretty straight forward

I know this is an old video but wondering if you can help. I have one very similar to this if not the exact same but updated UI. I'm having an issue were there is no sound from my indicators, seatbelt warning, fuel low warning or parking sensors. Did you have any issues like this? I'm at a loss with how to fix this. 🤷♂️. Everything else works fine though...
@@courtneyg06 Not exactly. The whole device works fine. However since I have installed this unit there is no sounds for those above. It would appear there is no sound track? For those noises. With the original head unit those noises are played through the speakers. I assume there is a sound saved on the system which is triggered by certain protocols and parameters. With this system I presume it doesn't have those sounds saved and doesn't trigger any noise... as I'm sure you can tell, I don't really have a clue why it doesn't work. I'm just hypothesising
@@courtneyg06 Well not upgraded but updated like to a more recent version of Android. But okay if it freezes up I don't want that. Cause how would you deal with that problem force power down like a phone. If they bring a better version out I will look into buying. Thank you for your help.
Tbh sometimes the speaker for the indicator sounds etc would become detached so it was just a case of opening the system up to reattach it. They don't use high spec components so don't expect these units to last too long.
I am in the same situation. Not even parking radar sounds. The question is if I find the connection for those speakers ( probably loose) where to connect it into this new unit?
Hello Mate, appreciate the video. Did you manage to find the setting to convert for a right hand drive. As you mentioned most info online is for LHD and European cars.

Yeah, I sold the car but it was a good radio. It crashed sometimes but overall I liked it. If you buy one, get one with a lot of RAM,android devices can be very slow at times.

@@bojidarmartinov5949 yeah the guy wanted a quick sale was the step dad of a friends ex girlfriend lol. I would definitely get the 160 the 130 has no go, overtaking becomes a challenge rather than a standard procedure
@@gabone71 Yes used it this morning on my short drive to the station. I would buy it. Much better than and stock stereo. Works fine, not really experienced any slow down and can only remember it crashing once or twice in the few months I've had it.
There are different units that support Sport&Tour Buttons, if you're still looking to find it, this one specifically is for models that don't have those. Aliexpress you are able to find them.
courtneyg06 very true. I’m pretty sure it can be fix. Just don’t know the software information or about device settings. I never took a picture of it. For just in case purposes.
