Insomniac Games Is Playstation's Most Valuable Studio 

I definitely consider Insomniac my all time favorite developer, and I wish I got into the Ratchet and Clank series way sooner than I actually did.

It's always good to see Insomanic getting props for how good they really are, they're honestly on fire at this point. They really do live up to the hype

Insomniac keeps pushing out high quality blockbusters and it seems like the studio is a great place to work for too.

I didn't know anything about Insomniac as a company before Spider-Man, but I knew they were cool when they added the Sam Raimi suit

I owe being a gamer to Insomniac i got my first console at 6yrs old in 01, it was a PS1 and one of the first games I got was Spyro YOTD and a few months after that in 02 I got the Ratchet & Clank/ATV Off-road fury 2 PS2 bundle needless to say they have given me so many good childhood memories with my dad and sis 😊 I’m going to be 28 on this thanksgiving and I’m still playing their games Spider-Man 2 is great 🤟🏽

I remember my first game being Spyro the dragon and to have them come this far to make such great Spider-Man games and a great ratchet and clank sequel shows how much they improved

Insomniac games is easily my favorite developer, funny enough I had no idea they created some of my favorite games growing up, Spyro the dragon specifically. And then I found out they created this series called ratchet and clank which blew my mind. Later on I saw that they created this fps series called resistance Wich was just incredible. They are One of the few developers that aren't just know for one or two games, they have variety and I love that so much.

I've been with Insomniac since the first ratchet and clank. That was back in 2002. In 2004, they had a real encounter with the fears of what crunch culture could do to their games. RAC UYA was their biggest game at the time of its launch and after just a year of development they released the game expecting the worst. Thankfully, the opposite happened. A whole decade before the term "crunch culture" even existed to the public, Insomniac decided to work towards eliminating crunch to improve life for its employees and to put more trust in their product selling well. The did this *because* it gave their games attention they deserved in a reasonable timeframe. If I needed to guess how Insomniac manages to push out as many games as it does, it has to be this. It's a standout quality of Insomniac's which separates them from most game studios today. They don't sweep problems under the rug to maximize profits in the short term. Compare Insomniac to EA, which is a company with a reputation to put out rushed games with enough microtransactions to make Bezo's question the affordability of games (or question how profitable it would be to buy EA, let's be real). EA has a massive net worth despite routinely putting out poorly received games. Despite the impressive sales, it would be difficult for the average person to grasp why they'd ever maintain their popularity. Insomniac, as you said, was purchased for practically nothing on Sony's end. If game studios were instead valued by the quality and reception of the works they put out, Insomniac would undoubtedly be one of the largest game studios on the planet. Insomniac's always been ahead of the curve and has been sharing what I think is their game making philosophy through their most recent games. Be kind. Be kind to your employees. Be kind to your customers. Stand out from the crowd. Do what's right. Work together. It's clear to me that Insomniac cares about their long term success as they try and save the creative process in game design. To me, they're the hero we need in game studios. Ironic that they're now potentially the new home of Marvel games, and their longest running series is about a heroic duo.

I'd argue they're the most valued gaming company, period. There's a reason Spider-Man 2 won't be out until next year(??) Because the dev team over at Insomniac are some of the most dedicated, talented developers on the planet. I genuinely cannot put it into words, just how much I love this studio. It'd be a dream job to work with them for any hardcore PlayStation fan.

Great video man. I also want to mention something that more developers should do: Insomniac Games acknowledges and heavily supports the speedrunning community. They've constantly tweeted about events where Ratchet and Clank speedruns would be happening, and have invited speedrunners such as Xem to their studios so that they could speedrun ratchet and discuss all the glitches in the game (the link to this video is right here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xBSd3OY8ViU.html ). Recently, the original spider man, and two ratchet and clank games got into GDQ, with insomniac congratulating all the runners that got in. The speedrunning community is very thankful for insomniac's support, and more developers should be supportive like insomniac.

I started being a fan of Insomniac way back in 2002 with the OG Ratchet & Clank. These guys never disappoint. It was always these guys and Naughty Dog as the top tier Sony developpers. Difference is a lot of the OG's are still at Insomniac: the Hastings bros, Ted Price, Brian Allgeier

Insomniac is the most competent game developer in the gaming industry. Miles morales was literally to hold us over while they work on Spiderman 2 because I wasn't expecting them work on a spin off then reveal Spiderman 2 a year later next wolverine. It's mind blowing makes it look like the other developers are slacking off in comparison.

I know insomniac has been putting out games to keep us entertained so they’re doing a good job. But with naughty dog that can change, they did say they’re expanding their building which means they can release games more frequently as well at some point.

I love that my favourite studio is getting big recognition now but it still bugs me how its only happened recently. They have always been a top 5 dev minimum. Spyro the dragon one of the best ps1 games. Ratchet and clank also one of the best ps2 series. Ps3 still continued Ratchet and clank along with making Resistance a very solid Fps with a really fun multiplayer. I know Rift apart was very impressive with the rift idea but look back at the original RAC on ps2 and jesus that game looks miles better than the majority of other ps2 games and had crazy stuff like the visi bomb gun and it ran at 60fps. Insomniac has always made games that are technically really impressive

oh man they are gonna hate me for this but in my opinion, Insomniac makes very very safe games, games that get boring very quickly, like after around 15 hours you are going to feel so bored and burnt out on the web swinging and combat mechanics and that's really all there is. I think insomniac should look to none other than Sucker Punch Productions on how to make an interactive open world game, The Spiderman series has so much potential and yet the scope of the games are so small scale. For example, Spiderman Miles Morales felt rushed and very small scale, for sure planned to be DLC but they released it as its own game for 10 dollars less than the original. I just think they get alot of praise and wanted to put my thoughts, they are good but they are spittin out masterpieces or nothin, but they could if they experimented more, the ps5 and dualsense have lots of potential I want to see them make use out of in the new Spiderman 2.

I actually have an idea on how they can implement on the coop aspect of spider man 2 they could actually implemetn a similar system in a way out where one person goes through one mission and the other goes for another but most of the time they woulsd spend fighting together and that they could potentially ask hazelight studios for help on some coop missions

Now every Marvel fan is saying let insomniac games take the wheel of the Avengers which sounds like a better alternative and their opinion. But in my opinion I would just say Don't put your hopes on insomniac games too much. I mean they are still a magnificent good gaming studio Don't get me wrong, But let's let him focus on Marvel's wolverine and Marvel Spider-Man 2 first. After all we respect their manners. 👍

Insomniac is good, but not my favorite Sony studio at this point. I found demons souls remake to be a better launch game than Miles Morales and Returnal was a better 2021 game than ratchet. Guerrilla games and Sony Santa Monica will do the heavy lifting in 2022. Spiderman 2 will likely be the best Sony game in 2023, but we don't know what else Sony is releasing that year.

I remember when everyone saw Naughty Dog as the best Playstation studio. Then they put all their guns into The Last of Us part 2, and that ended up being a mixed reception. Insomniac, on the other hand, has been making incredible games at a good pace; I myself am stoked for Wolverine and Spider-Man 2. Insomniac is on top now, while Santa Monica is humbly right underneath. Naughty Dog is in the shadows licking their wounds and re-evaluating what went wrong.

Really? They did Miles Morales dirty, the gameplay was identical to the predecessor, but this was expected. What wasn't, was how 2-Dimensional the villain was, and the overall plot suffered heavily for it. Hoping that Spiderman 2 (PS4/5) rectifies on this.

In my opinion it's pretty pathetic of Sony that they had to rely on Insomniac so much this early for there new console. 👀 Some games should've been ready by time that PS5 came out specially since they're cross generation. 👀 There was no excuse to why Forbidden West should've been ready for the holiday.
