While being sad... I find comfort and reassurance in this song... It is about the process of moving on... No reason to cry. Letting go of the past and embracing whatever the future may hold. If I cry... Then because the process itself was tough and took more time than needed. I love it.
This song perfectly defines the feel of the entire album. Insomnium found a great balance between calm, almost dreamy passages and their usual dark, brooding sound. Listening to this album while lying on my bed with my eyes closed sometimes puts me in an almost trance-like state. Just amazing music. Good video too, I now desperately want that that wallpaper at 2:20!

Good Lord the melody...this song is incredible. The bridge reminds me so much of a Pink Floyd song with the astral sound. 15/10 would (do) listen on repeat.

to me i see it a few different ways. it makes me think of the different people that i am (and have been). its like i am talking to myself...its everything i would have told my younger self now, but its also alot of what i would have said to the older me back then; knowing what im going through now. i am barley hanging on at times... anxiety, panic, self hatred. a lot of it has to do with how much i am not the person i used to be...and he would just tell me to slow down, catch up...and move on. some of it is that i took life to fast when i was younger, all i cared about was how fast i was (metal drummer, bike messenger...speed was life)...time, i wanted to catch all of it...i never stopped to smell the flowers... fuck it dude. this song is important to me, like a life line right now.
Maybe in the modern world there is no time to notice each other, because we just run away side by side. But if we try to slow down and observe our environment, and pay attention to each other, we can make new relationships. (I think)

Its all about being in the moment, not taking time for granted, and following your own dreams,listening to yourself, instead of following what society and the masses tell you to do, so later you do not regret your choices and life realizing that you had the power to choose the direction of your life all along. . I think the first part of the song is from a perspective of someone who didn;t realize the moment and didnt follow there dreams... and as time passed, he/she has begun to realize this and starts to have no more heart to continue to follow his/her dreams .. the hand that was always there was his/her own hand(Will) that had pushed him/her self to move forward and follow his/her dreams but .. let go /gave up, only growing resentment as he/she aged, knowing it was all his/her choice all along. procceding to the feeling of wishing you could go back, change it all and feeling full of resentment and regret for not following your own dreams and desires, which would lead to being in stuck state of knowing that you cant go back anymore and change the past of how you spent your time. i think the chorus part is from the perspective of someone telling how we all have our own dreams and get lost in them in a good way and know we want to do with our life and goals and even futher so more right before we sleep /while we sleep, but also how most people build up a wall around those dreams and bury them deep inside but still know/see/feel them ( the glass wall metaphor) and could live them if they could only get the internal strength and shatter the barrier thats self created and how we all have that voice inside saying to go after your dreams but most people also ignore that voice and dont listen to it choosing to ignore your own voice telling you to follow your dreams for any number of reasons. i think the other verses are telling you the solution to this problem , trying to get you to realize your life only moves forward each day coming closer to an end and you only have one chance to follow your dreams and acheive your goals and desires and each day that passes is one less chance you have to acomplish them and to not just live life blindly and go through the motions day by day and take your time / life and dreams for granted,.
