Have you thought of raising all your boxes onto stands for eye level so you save yourself some future knee replacements? Lol

I have avoided plastic frames, mostly because of the space they take up before putting them into service. I just purchased some triple wax black foundation to give a try. i started out using DuraGilt, and have been foundationless for a couple of years. Stringing the frame with fishing line is fast and cheap, and reduces but does not eliminate blowouts when extracting. My main interest in trying plastic is to,see if it helps my tired old eyes spot eggs more easily as I haave started rearing my own queens. We'll see. Jeff Horchoff is trying rewaxing his plastic foundation by dipping. If I can accumulate enough wax I will give that a try. My goal for this year is sustainability, not production, so I will be Mr. Increase for 2020. Fortunately i am having good luck with swarms this year which will give me the population i need.

I don't understand the need for using plastic in the hives, I love wood. Sure it can pull apart. But it creates an incentive to rotate old frames out of hives. Frames without way also make for great fire starters for the BBQ.

I won't use plastic frames again. I only had a few and they proved to be the last frames the girls will touch, even when you put them towards the centre of the box.

Mate down here in southern Vic winter has hit and the bees are mainly doing cleansing flights only, as per usual all my honey has set hard in the barrels, it goes sugary a week after extraction, perhaps due to the tea tree and hawthorn. I might try to cream some this year, cause you cant give away sugary honey.

@@notafuckinpplperson8233 Thanks for the input but for me it doesnt work within a few days it back to candy, I have an old fridge with a temp controller and a few incandescent bulbs, I have tried to liquefy but it always reverts back, I am gonna try creaming it whilst liquid with 10% off the shelf creamed honey as a seeder. They say that once you have it done once that you can use some of that batch to seed the next, not sure how it works.

Sentimental Bloke... Cream Honey 'How To' .... Check out Trev's Bees (New Zealand) Retired from RU-vid, but Video still up there on how you do Creaming (Seeding) Runny Honey ! 🍯

@@mmb_MeAndMyBees You never fully retire, Trev only just answered my mail where I was mentally trying to rationalise in my head the cost involved in buying gear, supplying labour and tripple rendering wax for sale, personally think that other than making a few thousand sheets of foundation, with the occasional inclusion, I just wont bother, itseems like a lot of work for little reward.
