This game makes me miss Don Adams, hell of a comedian (secret agent Maxwell Smart, always on the case), and the only Inspector Gadget I'll ever know (I have seen one of the newer cartoons for the show, the guy tries to sound like Don Adams, fails). This one from Hudson, continues Hudson's tradition of solid platformers.
Go Go Gadget Nostalgia!! Oh man, I remember this one. This game _and_ the cartoon. Like Konami, Hudson Soft was pretty good with licensed stuff back in the day. Even though as I kid I remember struggling a bit to get over the little bit of a learning curve here with all of the Inspector's gadget items. It's a pretty solid platformer though. Who didn't wonder what Dr. Claw really looked like? In the first boss fight he looked to be just an arm on a chair!! The in-between levels cutscenes are pretty funny too! "This message will self-destruct" BOOM!
@@supermariof0521 I imagine that the rights to use that were probably far easier and cheaper to get than the regular TV show's theme. I didn't realize it was from anything - that's some dedication though that they still insisted on something relevant and connected, even if people didn't notice.
"Don't worry, chief! I'm always on duty." I used to watch this show all the time as a kid. That and Heathcliff. They were syndicated on Nickelodeon and would air just before Looney Tunes or Double Dare or Mr. Wizard or You Can't Do that on television.
Inspector Gadget in 1993 (SNES) Super Nintendo Entertainment System Hudson Soft and DiC Entertainment back home 🏡 of all the time we have work today play ▶️ the games 🎮 but the child. Didn't want you and hope that the other day was going out for a bit more about Inspector Gadget. Inspector Gadget and a new one that will give that a girl 👧 her Penny in we been kidnapped every year since she is main villain Dr. Claw. I will next time you Gadget, I get you a good 👍 😌 for the crystal 🔮 program for your loss 😔 real life insurance plan and a great weekend good our hero Inspector Gadget!
Yeah it is a shame that the main theme isn't in here. Well, a small portion of it is in the opening theme. Other than that, the music in this game is surprisingly pretty good.
@@christopherb.5797 oh wow. I just looked that up. I had the Inspector Gadget toy (loved it) but I had never seen the Dr Claw toy. I would have loved to have that back in the day.
@@Sparrows1121 This theory is wrong, because we know Inspector Gadget's canon backstory from a trading card. Indeed he was security guard Johnathan Brown as reaffirmed per the bad Matthew Broderick Disney film from 1999, however instead of becoming the cyborg detective due to getting blown up & seemingly left for dead in an explosion whilst chasing down the minions of Sanford "Claw" Scolex who had made off with a semi-realistic robotic foot (said robotic body part was developed by the same scientist whose daughter Brenda worked with local city doctors to bring Johnathan Brown back as a clueless fumbling policeman embedded with ridiculous items of the secret agent trade [although, aside from the extended neck, arms, and legs alongside the Go-Go Gadget Coat & Go-Go Gadget Copter as well as the deliberately comically oversized Go-Go Gadget Mallet, most of the gizmos built inside of Inspector Gadget were wacky cartoon sound effects -- such as making perverse accidental monkey screeches when he saw Brenda bend over -- explosive fireworks that went off during a fundraising benefit promoting his rebirth as a cybernetic officer of the law, and often rather useless comedy props]), the cartoon version of Inspector Gadget was turned from a rather on-the-beat cop to a bionic crime fighter due to slipping on a banana peel discarded by some ignorant litterbug. Besides, it was later confirmed in the _Gadgetinis_ spinoff that Penny's parents were canonically dead, thus explaining the reason why she had been left in the care of her doting but inept uncle & the sentient family dog Brain, whose animal mumbling & anthropomorphic charades Penny could understand (in the same manner that Mystery Inc. know what their cowardly Grand Dane mascot Scooby-Doo is saying or how the space age family The Jestons understand their own pet dog Astro) due to the fact that Penny herself is depicted as a child prodigy super genius & the one secretly responsible for constantly foiling the M.A.D schemes of his various subordinate underlings serving under the employ of unseen baritone-voiced crime boss, Dr. Claw.
Go go Gadget game! This game is like sorta the first of a trilogy of different licensed games that were developed by AIM and published by Hudson Soft. In fact, the other two games, An American Tale and Swat Kats share very similar graphics to this one.
You also gotta like how every time Gadget gets hit, it's like off (Super) Ghouls n Ghosts.. he gets stripped to his skivvies then a life lost... totally missed opportunity here to have different coloured suits to increase Gadget's powers
I remember renting this game way back in the day. I think I only managed to make it to the second boss before getting a game over. Reason I say this is because I remember the first stage and first couple bosses after watching this. Funny how I don't remember Stage 2 though... Oh well, worse could be.
Never got to play this game but it looks fun. Simple yet playable from what see. Yes, Inspector Gadget is a great cartoon until Capeman was brought in .
*WOWSERS*. I never played this game, but being an Inspector Gadget fan, I really wanted to. Oh, and the GadgetMobile is actually modeled off the 1983 Toyota Supra, not the 1985 Delorean DMC-12 eventhough IG predates Back to The Future.
I was surprised by the number of effects in the various stages. This game looks really good! The music isn't my cup of tea but it's competent and every stage has a theme. This is kind of shocking!
I love that they kept the part about Gadget throwing the self-destructing message in Chief Quimby's face XD. By the way I didn't know this actually existed
I remember getting this game for my 10th birthday after reading about it in Nintendo Power. Summer was definitely fun for me when I got it back in 1994. Good thing I still have my copy; I need to dust it off and play it again 😊
Gadget's kitchen was focused on heavily in the less popular Season 2. In addition to scenes with 🤬 Capeman, we learn that most of the labor-saving devices on his kitchen counter have been "Gadgetized", with conveyor belts and mechanical hands.
Wouldn't it have been fun if he was so incompetent it was basically impossible to finish the game? Now that would have been an Inspector Gadget video game that TRULY lived up to its license!
Didn't even know this game existed. Glad the developers remembered that whole "This message will self-destruct" bit from the cartoon AND the fact that Gadget has a habit of tossing it towards Chief Quimby who ends up bearing the brunt of the explosion.
Inspector Gadget is based on the animated TV show of the same name, and it includes a 16-bit rendition of the Inspector Gadget Saves Christmas theme. A Nintendo Entertainment System version was planned, but it was never released in the U.S.
Insert obligatory brown bricks in Minecrap joke here. With all seriousness this game does look like Hudson actually put effort into it rather than creating a game that Gadget would hate more than Mad Agents so bravo. Oh look a free I-Pad.
A somewhat basic, but still underrated platformer & one of the better licensed video games of its time (though this didn't save the game from falling into obscurity among gamers--Most people only remember the PS1 & PS2 games [if that], and that's because one or both of them were released around the same time as the live-action movie), it's always good to see this game get another look.
So you actually see who Dr. Claw looks like in this game. Kind of underwhelming but I guess it’s better then the live action movie that seems to just show his face off front and center all the time and he’s basically just Norman Osborn in that movie.
This Inspector Gadget Super Nintendo game is based on the animated TV series of the same title, off of syndicated reruns via Bohbot, and The Family Channel in the early 90's.
OH MY GOD! We finally get to see the face of the villainous mastermind, Dr. Claw, this is one the best face reveals. Too bad it wouldn't last forever, since he would go back to not show his face again.
You can say Konami, Capcom and sunsoft to some extent bring out bangers when it comes to licensed games. But let not forget when Hudson soft sometime does it. Or taito
I remember Inspector Gadget too ! I also remembered that i used to own the VHS of the first live-action movie(if you know what i mean). This game looks cool and faithful to the show. PS : i searched for CD-I games and i set eyes on this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HCOYOPssiqs.html What do you say when you saw the names of Michael Berk and Douglas Schwartz : Baywatch ! Fun fact : Brandon Call, the boy from Step By Step and one of the participants of the game, played Hobie Buchannon in the first episode of Baywatch. He was replaced later by Jeremy Jackson.
I tried to emulate Inspector gadget today (on a Miyoo Mini Plus, Onion os) BUT i couldn't figure out the controls..I tried so many times to grab onto items like at 2:02... but it didn't work. I just can't understand so weird. I wonder if the game rom i was using had an issue.
There is only an American version and we want this game to be released in a European version and a Japanese version. Inspector Gadget without having to pay for copyright and make your boxart of the super famicom (super nintendo) first the person will have to ask for authorization, if the person does it without authorization it is piracy
Well, at least it's much better than the 1999 live-action film adaptation that Disney released or the 2015 cartoon reboot which is much more inferior to the 1983 original cartoon series.
So true, I mean I don't know if that showing Dr. Claw's face here is even canon, but rather interesting to think about when in most franchises, villains like him don't show their real face until the very end.
