EXCITING NEWS- Clint's new book is now available on Amazon at this link below.
www.amazon.com...
Read the book to learn more about this story and how to become a Mr. Jensen for your students, employees and family.
“When we help team members, students, and co-workers to become more of who they already are - retention improves, sales increase, academic success soars and your people win...Be a Mr. Jensen!"
Emmy Award-winning Keynote Speaker Clint Pulver helps organizations that want to retain, engage and inspire their younger workforce. As the President and founder of The Center for Employee Retention, Clint has transformed how corporations like Keller Williams, AT&T and Hewlett Packard create lasting loyalty through his work and research as “The Undercover Millennial”.
He has appeared on America’s Got Talent and in several different Feature Films with actors like Jack Black (School of Rock) and John Heder (Napoleon Dynamite). Clint was named one of Business Q Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40” for his work in helping corporations elevate their “WHY” of mentorship in the workplace and how connected and engaged employees yield loyal and long-term retention within organizations.
For over a decade, Clint has helped leadership teams diminish turnover, increase engagement and create an organization their people never want to leave. With a blend of humor, unforgettable stories, and actionable takeaways that stick, Clint convinces audiences on the power of “The Mentorship Effect,” and why some leaders create lasting loyalty and others don’t.

Nowadays our kids are thrown things that no child should have to hear and if my kids were still of school age I would pull them out because they are being taught evil and parents need to put up the hardest fight they have ever faught until it is won.

Definitely a tear jerker! Undiagnosed ADHD well into adulthood is awful.. feel guilty and wrong and a nuisance all the time. But once you realize what it is, and that you can use your condition constructively, in a way that serves YOU, the world is your oyster if you want to be. 😊

As a psychologist of 28 years, may I offer the following. Maybe it's not undiagnosed ADHD. Maybe it's just another way of being in the world that works well in some places and not so well in other places. ADHD is a diagnosis that explains distractibility and hyperfixation and many other phenomena, which are conveniently encompassed by the growing number of subtypes. Pathologising normality and difference is increasingly problematic. I'm accept there are presentations that might well warrant consideration of a diagnosis. I'm suggesting we might well benefit from lifting the threshold, at least just a tad.

I'm a Music Teacher. AS SOON AS he said he tapped all the time, I knew!!! Drummers NEED to tap!!! Certain traits and abilities are simply born into us. It is up to the adults around us to recognize those traits and abilities in us because children don't have the understanding and experience to do it for themselves. I wish identifying musical traits in children was part of all educators' training. I think there would be fewer "behavior problems" if it were.

This made me cry because as an educator, I have seen first hand students who have excess energy punished and it just makes the school experience so negative. My question too. Did it stop the tapping? In real life this can become a great problem for teachers who have the constant tapping, clicking of pens, shaking of upper legs, feet or hands in their peripheral vision. Also the student's neighbours who are trying to concentrate are effected. This is really a tremendous problem in Math classes where one needs to be extra focused. The more difficult the sums get, the more one zooms into the noise and you can literally see the tension and frustration build up in the children. Any "in class" solution to solve this dilemma that seems to grow exponentionally?

The problem with many "teachers" is their agendas. They come in before the students needs and then if a parent interferes we become the target of attack. My son is a genius and school is not fostering his talents rather getting him bored with China enforced core and books that have nothing to do with how we raise him at home. I took him out of this miserable existence call school and now he thrives at Montessori. For High school we are looking to homeschooling better than violent teens locked in jail house call school

I am a middle school teacher who showed this to both of my classes today ( 8th graders) and talked about what it means to be kind and support others to be their best selves. I also wanted my students who do fidget to see this and know their energy is there to express something. Nothing is wrong. You also reminded me that just like you, I had a student who was a tapper quite a few years ago. Luckily my dad is a tapper ( and an avid musician), so I knew the signs. Unfortunately, the public school system does not allow teachers to teach. State testing is the only driving force in the school system today. Teachers can no longer take time to teach the curriculum and to let students explore new concepts and ideals. Today the federal, state, local school districts and school boards control the classroom, not the teacher. Teachers no longer have autonomy in their classrooms. The American public needs to rise up and demand the we get rid of state testing and allow teachers autonomy in their classrooms so they can actually teach!

Mr. Jenson is a real role model who inspires teachers to think outside the box and never takes students disruptive behaviour personally. This is incredible! I woke up this morning from a dream about being a middle school student. I remembered this young man, who I used to be inspired by, whenever he would play the drums. I was a closed off shy kid, and I would think, man I wish I could just let loose in front of people, I wish I could allow myself to bang on these drums in the rhythms that my heart felt. I wish I could smile and welcome conversation with kids I didn’t know. I remember this kid, who seemed to do this effortlessly and, I know he never knew this, but I use to admire this person and his ability to do these things. His name was Clint, so the moment you received those sticks, you started inspiring others, whether you knew it or not. Many years have past and I forgot about moments like these, until I awake from a dream, remembering this name, why, I don’t know. So I look this person up and, come across this quote “ It’s not about being the best in the World. It’s about being the best for the World.” Be a Clint Pulver God bless!

Why does the student act this way? Mabye he suffers form adhd and can't help it to stay calm and focused Does he seem to be demotivated to learn or not engaged enough? Yes he thought that his education ended when the asked him to stay after school by saying " I am done" and that their is no hope he can get better , because he tried once and failed How would you deal with this student? I will try to contact his parents and ask them to do an adhd assessment. Then, I would use suitable ways to deal with an adhd student Or I might ask his parents to enroll him into any kind of activities outside the school so he can release all the energy he has Other option is giving him something in his hands like a stress ball or a spinner How would you evaluate the teacher’s attitude to Clint Pulver? The teacher was very brilliant as he saw the good in his student not like others who viewed his actions as a misbehaviour How do you expect the teacher’s attitude impact Clint Pulver’s engagement and motivation in classes? It brought the good out of him and changed his life completely He was super motivated and showed the best out of him

I worked with kids who on the surface had behaviour problems. I'd call this reframing, turning something negative into something positive. I remember a boy who outraged other students by throwing small stones into a flock of chickens to make them run. I gave him some bread to feed them. It was the interaction he wanted. They waited for him every morning.

I love stories like this. As a teacher I always tried to be positive and encouraging to my students. I love when they come back and tell me something that I said that made a difference. This is awsome

I am proud to say that I have had my own Mr. Jensen moments throughout my career. After teaching for so many years, I would hope that I've had many, as I have positively effected the lives of so many of my students and their families. This is one of the best parts of being a Teacher!

Oh yes.I did that for my 2 kids .I tune in to kids needs that they or no one could see their greatness.(the problem kids they say)they put my daughter out kindergarten for being talkative wont sit still and I wrote poems and speeches for competitions (she has awards from this.)she reads avidly ,quite articulate and has leadership skills. Teaching her dance now and sports.she is 10..I am in Jamaica so here they beat and diminish your child.did the same for my son he had autism couldnt learn at school he learns differenty.I coach him in sports.he is in the navy.I am a trained teacher who never fit within the narrow stuctures of the Jamaican classroom.Too rigid.I had to homeschool them to protect their future self.I gave them a voice so they could claim their power.thank you so much for posting.

I raised a child who was always tapping his pencil, his fingers, anything to make a beat. However, his teachers thought he needed to be put on meds despite the objections of his pediatrician. I wish every little black boy is blessed with a teacher like this and a strong advocate like my son's pediatrician.
