I can see a silver lining in Indian sprinting scene. There are at least 4 (or more) sprinters around the 10.25 second mark (Gurinder, Amlan, Manikanta, Amiya). I think there should be more races among them with good prize money, streamed live on TV. This can finance their further training and improve their timings. The light is not far, they can inspire the next wave of sprinters to be under 10 achievers (if not themselves). But without a doubt, top 5 in India in any sport should earn well enough to be able to comfortably finance their trainings.

in my school, there were athletes use to sprint 10 seconds without shoes or synthetic track, myself was 11.25 seconds at the age 14-15, but got no chance to move or learn further for any professional training. If THIS GUY CAN'T CUT THE RACE UNDER 10 SECONDS, then he should wait for achieving it before going to any international meet. Or else it's just a waste of time.
