Prevention of cervical cancer is best achieved through the immunization of girls under 15 years old. All currently licensed bivalent, quadrivalent and nonavalent HPV vaccines have excellent safety profiles and are highly efficacious or have met immunobridging standards.
The 2020 WHO Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer as a Public Health Problem recommends that HPV vaccines should be included in all national immunization programmes and should reach 90% of all girls by age 15 by 2030.
This year, WHO country office in Kazakhstan reaffirmed high-level political commitment and leadership, as well as cooperation with partners to implement a Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer as a public health problem.
