I always approach large books (like Bavinck's) with a daily reading plan of at least 20 pp per day. This enables me to tackle a large book in 1 month. I also am gracious with myself and don't always read the same thing every day, but read multiple books at once, which is more enjoyable for me. But a good rule is to read 20 pp per day (at least) for building habits and working through more challenging books.
