I have been testing mine as a dash cam in my 18 wheeler while plugged in with a 512 GB SD card and it ran for 87 minutes before I turned it off for fuel and then it ran for about 3 more hours until it overheated because it's also sitting in the sunlight coming through the windshield. There is no direct airflow on it and now that the sun is hitting it directly I'm only getting maybe about an hour to an hour and a half. I had it sitting on standby in the pre-record mode so if I saw something interesting I could just hit the record button. Overall I don't think I can complain about that because I'm kind of doing a bit of a stress test anyway. This is also with the AI highlight thing turned on too
@@CT-gc1ck you also have to consider I had mine plugged in during all of this so it's getting warm that way too. Honestly I'm pretty sure the battery will die before it over heats lol. I have a total of four batteries and a 3 battery charging dock. I'm going to see if the batteries charge fast enough that even with constant recording, I'll always have at least one full battery.
lol mine overheated and all i did was have it on for an intro video in a 67-degree F cool room right after unboxing it and charging the battery. set at 4k 60fps but no recording, no shooting, nothing.
With my GP11 hero black, the battery contributes the most to overheating. Once they updated the firmware to be able to use the mod mic enclosure with no battery and using a USB cable for power, it gave it the ability to record pretty much indefinitely at 4k30. Mine routinely fills a 256g card at around 4 hours and change of recording without stopping. I use it to record my band and will just start recording at the beginning of the show and let it and my ZV-E10 just record non stopped for the whole evening. Can you test if doing the same with this camera works and lets the camera fill the card without over heating at 8k using a USB charger for power?
The real test will be out in direct sunlight! Mine overheated running 1080p 30 fps on HDR on standard bit rate while metal detecting (temp 70F) :/ You probably already know your video vlog is reversed ;)
