This channel is so much informative for a brand new X2 user as me. Much appreciated. I do have the premium lens guards, without them I couldn't even imagine using the X2. I also got the 3M Telesin extended selfie stick, which is a great price and quality for like 45 USD. Keep up these videos coming, they are so great! Thanks and God bless you and your family!
Thanks Drew. I always wondered what the difference between them was. Other RU-vidrs haven’t really made it as clear as you just have. (pardon the pun). Keep up the good content.
Good video! Quick recommendation for any mountainbiker out there though.... the sticky lens guards do nothing!... Smashed right through them and destroyed my ONE X2 on my first few runs this summer. Looking at buying Premium lens guards for the new camera, and hope they hold up better 😊
I pulled and junked the Sticky Guards...I didn't know they're not waterproof....smacked them on and put the cam underwater in the pool....one lens had CRAZY CONDENSATION to the point that lens was useless. Also the Sticky Guards have an insane amount of lens flare in bright light interior/sunny shots.
Hello~, I like your videos 👍👍💪💪 by the way im new to your channel. anyway, I also got a one x2 with the premium lens guards almost 2 weeks now. so far i'm kinda having light refection problem, with the premium lens while hiking in a forest under bright sun. but the stitching seem less now. of course the best is without any lens guards, but need to be 200% careful not to drop it. and always remember to put the cap on & clean the lens with lens cloth before filming. the other cons of the premium is, it blocked the type c port and 2 mic holes. which mean when you need to recharge the battery, needs to take the lens guards off. unless you got few extra batteries and the charger. and for the audio solution => talk louder, get closer to the x2 or get a wireless mic. personally prefer to talk louder 😂😂 unless filming in a city then go wit the wireless mic. ✌
Hey welcome to the channel! I totally agree with everything you said. And I never actually thought about the fact that the premium lens guards would block the charging port. 😣 Thanks for watching.🙏🏾
I never considered how much it would cost for the premium to be replaced if I broke it. I bought mine for the soul purpose of putting it on my FPV drone. One good crash would probably destroy it (but save the original lens). The plastic ones would be a cheaper option (if I didn't know how to fly and crash alot 😂) to replace but I just haven't seen a video of a drop test using them. Honestly feel like neither would survive a drop test; just break through both lenses. Don't one to chance it so I guess an expensive replacement it is! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video. I understood from another review that with the premium protection a black edge all around can be seen, which means not completely 360 degree free.
@@SmithShotFilms hi and thanks for the video. I am using it right now but they are still available. Allthough I clicked on the premium lens guard stitching button. What did I do wrong?
I got one of this premium lens amd actually it does shows the black edge you mention. I thought it would dissapear using the special function "premium lens" included in the software but it didn't. I am happy with my camera but not with the quality image when using the premium lens.
Hey you got to protect your investment. What did you mean by horizontal mount? Let me know I might make a video about the mounts that I use with the camera. Thanks for watching! 🤔
Thank you MrReddington 77! I really appreciate your support! 🙏🏾😁 honestly I don’t know because the mic adapter that I have is for the one RS. So it doesn’t actually work with the premium Lens Guard.
@@SmithShotFilms hey man thanks for the quick response. I just ordered the guard and the wireless mic. I read somewhere you can’t use both but that’s ok. I have the backpack mount and I want to ride my electric skateboard and give commentary lol. Thanks again and I’ll be checking out your channel for other tech stuff.
Thanks. What about sound quality? It was bad on both, but the more expensive guards cover over all the microphones where the cheaper ones don't cover any, thus the sound must be somewhat better with the cheaper lens guards.
Yup you’re correct. The premium lens guards do cover the sound holes a little bit. But they do have an adapter so you can connect an external microphone. Sound quality on the camera microphone is not good in general. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏾🎥
I wanted to hear the difference in sound quality but you talked over the cheap ones. The premium guards cover the front and rear mics and the cheap ones have a cut out so they are not covered.
Hi. I'm a new X2 user here. How does the premium look when going 360? Do you see the sides more prominent than without it that you just shouldn't use it?
After Insta 360 said I could have it checked out in the USA to expedite. I was sent instructions to have check out in Hong Kong. I didn't mention this but the generic memory card stopped being recognized and I had to buy a new one. this is before it instantly fails underwater. This product will be in shipping back and fourth to China, longer than I had the product. BUYER BEWARE
Oh wow that is terrible. I never had any problems with the camera stopping when underwater. It’s good news that you’re getting a new one. Must be a bad unit. Thanks for watching!🙏🏾
Dang, in the end this camera is very expensive. I did buy it but now I have the need to buy those $50 lens only because I’ll be using it mainly while riding my Waverunner. I DO NOT want scratches on the lens. What a bummer.
Hi. How do you clean water spot and dust on the inside of the lense? There is a rubber ring blocking the full lense from the inside. Can the rubber ring be remove? Thank you.
Good video thanks! tell me ? Why do you complain to a camera that would never give good quality video or photos? It is very expensive and you have to have a very expensive cell phone and a very expensive PC! and will never give good quality? Always poor quality.
