Everyone is like “buy this camera it’s a game changer” You’re over here like “hey this is a fun day oh I’m surprised this cam is capturing it so well.” This. This is why I watch your videos! So refreshing to see someone just walking around experiencing the new product instead of just saying “you must buy it!” All the time. Congrats on the wedding! @@jackyfan I have both, if there is interest I can make a video of it. To be honest, the 1" isn't what I thought it would be. It's pretty big and bulky and I haven't seen the wow factor compared to my previous X3. haven't played with the X4 too much but I'll test the 8k on it today and really compare and see if the 1" sensor really is that much better in daylight. I know at night it's definitely better.

@@PepesTowingService There’s already some comparisons on RU-vid. It seems like the initial influencer reviews entirely avoid the topic, and now it’s pretty clear. The 1” sensor provides great low light performance but otherwise the x4 (a cheaper camera) devours the RS 1-inch in almost all other categories. No wonder they don’t want their sponsored reviewers to even talk about it to avoid cannibalising their more expensive camera.

Great vlog! I see you’re using the wireless DJI mic 2 for your audio there? I assume the X4 works with this now unlike the X3 And those comparisons @ 02:58 … is it just me or does the X3 at 5.7K look better ( colour, sharper ) The 8K shots looked out of focus?

With 6K my experience has been that if you go wide enough then footage looks good exported in 1080p, though distorted somewhat. Makes sense because typically you would cut the footage in half to 3K, to look at one direction, then cut out much of the sky and some of the ground because you wouldn't need or want those. So any punch-in and you're basically upscaling sub-1080p footage. Looking forward to trying out 8K.

Hey bro, congrats on getting married! This video was so fun to watch, especially seeing all the different places you traveled to. The 360 footage is amazing and it really makes you feel like you're right there with you. Overall, this camera seems like a great upgrade from the previous version. The 8K footage looks amazing, and I love that it's waterproof. I can't wait to see more of your adventures with the Insta360 X4

The wedding idea is crazy! imagine if your grandparents had this technology, you could put on a headset and be at your grandparents wedding looking around at everyone. You will be able to relive your wedding as if you are there again. Far more interesting than a high end wedding video.

Lowlight is much better on this X4 than the X3. Still can’t believe there’s no 10 bit or LOG from Insta360, such a strange philosophy. Congratulations you two newlyweds! This is the best news :)

@@cheeeeezewizzz it’s become the industry standard. You can hardly colorgrade 8 bit footage. (Won’t stop me from trying) But even a LOG profile in 8 bit with standard color space transforms would be better for dynamic range. Isn’t that the point of throwing 8k into a 360 camera? To make it the most versatile tool possible?

Congratulations! I really appreciate this analysis - the gist I'm hearing is that 360 is potentially ready for core communications work given H265, 8K, color, etc. Very helpful thank you. Also the tripod prototype at NAB was very cool to see in person. I appreciate this fantastic work thank you! Am I the only one who sees this? The x4 footage looks really soft, almost softer than the x3 comparisons here? Super weird. In all other reviews the x4 looked much sharper. What settings are you using? Are you not using some sharpening feature that other reviewers have been using? It's really noticeably soft in every single shot here.

You can remove the wide angle distortion in the Insta360 app before rendering. I think that most of the shots in this video would look better if you guys did that! Great video and cheers from Brazil!

First off - CONGRATS! Second - This review is the one that Insta360 should be showing people! In my experience with these cameras - they are NOT action cameras and the second they hit the ground - or snow - or anything - the lens scratches - so the fact that you are using this casually and you even mention the lens guards and talk about this issue - I almost....might....consider...getting this.

Hey, Gene! I find that decreasing the Midtone Detail in Davinci Resolve helps mitigate the oversharpening that small sensors usually have. I tested with some X3 footage, and it works. If you ever try it, Let me Know

You make some really valid points about experiencing what's happening, instead of experiencing with a phone or camera's rear screen. That's a legit plus. On another note, that pay to get slapped....funny but only in Japan. I love Japn for stuff like that.
