Can the front castors be locked? I tried out one like this before (different brand but looked exactly like this one) but it nearly killed me as it went off the pavement & onto the road by itself, on an uneven pavement with a dropped kerb. It scared me so much I sent it back and bought a mobility scooter. I've yet to find a power chair that is within my budget, for outdoor as well as indoor use. If the castors were one sided or lockable (at the touch of a button on the joystick) it would really help with this. I think atm these type of powerchairs aren't suitable for UK pavements, which are not completely flat, in practice. I really like the Quickie Spider Trac and think that is the best Power Chair for our uneven pavements, dropped kerbs, crossings for the blind (uneven surfaces), going up & down hills, going over cobbled paths & roads, going up & down hills...but it's so expensive. If you could make an affordable one like that it would be great! I also like the hybrid power chair/ mobility scooter idea. Mobility scooters are far more stable & safe for outdoors, but not as great indoors as a power chair (eg for sitting at a table having dinner). I also like being able to fold it in the car and also use it on the bus (but my local bus company doesn't accept mobility scooters, only wheelchairs and power chairs). I think I'm dreaming of a perfect solution (1 chair for all uses) 🤣
