Unfortunately pure people are only respected when they're famous. I'm more pure than him or anyone else on this planet but I've been spit on because 'I'm soft' or something. People are weird.
He’s the most human artist there ever was. He looked so nervous at the start of the performance and by the end he owned that stage. Such an incredible man who went back to scatland way too soon ❤️❤️
Yeah it's truly impressive. I mean it's a real case of "life hands you lemons, you blind life with said box of lemons & achieve success while it can't fuck you up" I think that's how it goes?
Saying that this was amazing is a huge understatement. The uptempo jazz break in the middle is genius. This just shows John getting to really flex his jazz chops and do what he wanted with the song. Props to that house band. They absolutely killed it. Otherworldly.
This man is a legend, not only did he have a stutter, he had lung cancer too. Despite all this he pushed in his singing career and made some master pieces
Scat man's musical talent is like an old engine in an antique car. Takes a bit to get going, but once he get's warmed up, he sound absolutely timeless.
I love just how personable Scatman John was in all his interviews and performances. The priceless moment in this video to me is when he doesn’t at first nail that introductory, “I’m the Scatman!” and immediately clasps his hands together into a fidget, then comes back like a cannon on the second go. That to me encapsulates why I like him as a person so much. “If the Scatman can do it, brother, so can you.”
Damn, this guy just seemed like a really sweet dude. Glad he was able to find success despite his speech impediment and inspire others along the way to not let anything hold you back. And daaaaamn, from 9:03 on as he breaks into the solo, that guitar sounded so GOOD.
TV broadcasts back then usually looked pretty OK, but most recordings on RU-vid look bad because of how they got here. A lot of the old stuff on RU-vid are old VHS recordings that were first put online in like 2006 when video was super compressed. If you wanna see what they look like in original quality you can occasionally find some original studio recordings being uploaded today, Motorweek have uploaded a lot of their old stuff in 1080p.
So sad that he was taken from us so early, I guarantee that if he was still alive he'd have more hits. But his music that he did gift us with still loves on, and I'll make damn sure my kids will grow up knowing this voice!
I dont know how to write this in english, but i will try, i would be grateful if i was born in 85 - 90 it will be nice...
Thanks john scatman ... Thank you for making me feel important with this condition that for many years tied me. Thank you for making me understand that in this world, any suffering can be part of your success, since it is part of your life ... and you make your life the best you can. RIP. john Saludos desde Lima, Perú.
Scatman John used his stutter to inspire, encourage, and entertain. I’ve loved his music since it first came out, and you can’t deny the way it lifts you up and just makes you feel good. Taken from us far too soon, RIP Scatman, we miss you.
I heard his music but, now thanks to youtube I now know that he was an amazing person with a big heart and kept things real and wanted to inspire others. That guitar at 9:06 - awesome. :-( Miss you Scatman John :-(
When I heard this song's pv at first time , I doubted whether he can say without editing. After Watching this, I like him more than I used to do. I often seek his voice.
It's like saying "Respect from a mentally ill person, who's opinon has no weight in any regard, what so ever". It's like not commenting at all, so why do it?
Mytomanen bre you don't get the meaning, do you? Usually metalheads shit on this kind of music, so it means a lot more, it's like when a rap-hater says he respects Eminem (random example), it means that even though he might dislike the music, he still respects the artist for what he stands for. Come on man don't be such a hater, don't bring negativity when people are trying to be positive
Metalhead here too, I think Scatman was a genius. Very catchy songs from what I've listened to so far. Might buy one of his records at some point in the future.
"While you're still sleepin', the saints are still weepin' 'cause Things you call dead haven't had the chance to be born I'm the Scatman(...)" #scatman #scatmanjohn
Live! Unglaublich.
i was 10 years, it was my first CD. Hes my Hero. People just die when u stop thinking of them. He will never die. But im so sad that god did not give man any more years. lets celebrate his live and his talent. lets not cry.
Yo baile esta good cancion!!!🎹😙
"All I can tell ya is _while you're still sleeping, the saints are still weeping cause the things you called dead haven't yet had a chance to be born_ ."
This got me in tears when I’m in a bad mood o always listen to him and I immediately feel better got bless him I hope to meet you one day John Larkin 🥺
@@london507 Not to mention all the stillborn babies. 57 is still a young age to die regardless of anybody who might have died at a younger age than that.
Scatman John is so underrated. I do not see so many people describe him as legendary like some artists, although he deserves it for who he was and how much he achieved despite being in his "decline" stage of life when he first became popular.
He's so inspiring even to this day. I loved Scatman's music ever since I was a kid. Now that I've grown older I've developed a stutter, which actually led me to rediscovering John's music once more. It's helping me rediscover self love & confidence. We all miss you Scatman, the world could use you more than ever. Sleep well in Scatland ♥
When I saw for the first time this song on screen in disco, I thought how could someone sing so precisely it seemed like it was tuned in automatically but this guy was really precise, I think nobody can ever imitate him, It was a message to humanity from a man who had been bullied all his life. He made his strongest point of his weakest points. Rest in peace John. I miss 80's and 90's life was just different.
