I went from a 1988 toyota pickup that took 10 minutes to change the stereo and I own a 2018 silverado now and I'm 2nd guessing upgrading the stereo lol. The video takes longer than it should for the whole thing.
Lol yea when he said "plug and play" I figured the install would be simple but NOPE. Go ahead and take apart your ENTIRE front dash of your truck and be ready to basically rewire everything lol ALOT of easier and cheaper options out there with similar if not same features
Good looking and straightforward install. But am I right that it doesn’t retain factory mic, satellite radio, steering wheel controls, factory usb and integrated dash control? So I’m basically buying it just for a bigger screen pretty much.
I got this installed at a shop that is a stinger dealer recently. I’ve had problems with back of camera cutting off or freezing as well as igo navigation does not show my location and just says acquiring satellite
I had the same question. My 2014 has the floor console ( 2 seats) also I just found out that my radio does not receive some XM chanels, like 130, so pe..d, my favorite one. Hping they come out with a bose upgradel
We do not currently support the Bose equipped vehicles. Much modification would be required to keep factory systems in place when replacing the factory radio in a Bose equipped truck. It is not recommended at this time, but if you do decide to proceed it is recommended that you do so with a professional installation shop performing the work.
You gain the larger screen, as well as HDMI input capabilities, 4 camera inputs for front view and blindspot cameras, time alignment, adjustable equalizer, and many of the features that people perceive as lost can be adjusted with the Vehicle Settings App from PAC-Audio when using the PAC-UP interface updater.
Pardon my ignorance I am not a tech guy. I was looking at this unit to replace the factory radio/screen for my 2014 Sierra Denali. Will I be able to play music from my phone using Bluetooth? I am not a fan of having to plug my phone in every time I want to listen to music in my truck currently. Well done on the video. It was so well done it made me feel like I could do it myself even though I still struggle to use basically any other form of technology
You will be able to stream music to the radio via Bluetooth, but you would have to be connected to the USB to access all the features of CarPlay and Android Auto.
We do not have a video that specifically shows the trucks with a center console, but you can see how easily the tray of the console comes out in videos like the one linked below that other individuals have posted on RU-vid. The rest of the installation will be the same. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Iq8K-zCDoow.html
@@Stinger.Solutions Can you make an update to this comment when it does become available for the bose-equipped models? If so, you would have an easy sell. Don't take too long though, im hunting for a system lol. Thanks!
Does this maintain dash instruments like navigation, audio display, tire pressure ect as well as parking assist modules and mylink vehicle settings like auto door lock ect?
The radio does not integrate with the cluster message display. The settings that are done thru the factory radio can still be done after the HEIGH10 is installed, but must be done with the PAC Vehicle Settings app and a laptop.
Unfortunately the factory microphone can not be used with the HEIGH10. The external mic is included with the kit, and you can use either the external mic or the one built into the radio screen.
If your truck comes with factory navigation will that features be retained with the replacement unit? Also do HVAC controls show up on the screen like the stock radio?
This unit will not retain your factory navigation. You can add our iGo Navigation card to have built in Navigation on this unit. The unit is not integrated with the vehicle to provide information such as HVAC controls.
Too much wiring to interface unit. More connections , more signal lost. Should have I connector junction to veh. But overall not bad. Can you connect a CD player/ juckbox?
The radio replacement package comes with everything you need for all factory audio trims, other than Bose equipped vehicles. Once you know which specific factory radio you have, you will then use the correct harnesses and instruction for your truck.
just installed this kit. i can not for the life of me get the SWC to work. the module see's the command because the light blinks on the 51. but i do not get volume control on the head unit. help plzzzzzzz. i have watched this video multiple times, pausing to check the wiring compared to mine. every thing is the same. i can see on the installer menu my controls are not programmed. but i can not find any info on that....
@@ovaca16 yes its fixed..... after talking to tech support we found out the kit did not have a cable that is needed for the SWC. shipped it for free. installed it and now have working SWC. just give them a call.
@@cityjenkins7500 yes, i talked to them this past Monday and got it figured out. I had the cable in my kit and the circuit board for my camera. Thanks for your response buddy.
This unit will be able to connect with a Kicker sound system. If you have any additional questions, please connect with our technical support line at 1-800-477-2267 EXT: 3333. Thank you!
I am having trouble, got it installed and everything works as it should, but now speaker in my driver door , rear passenger door and the speaker on driver side dash are not working. It isnt an issue with fade or balance? Any help
To use satellite radio you would need to add the SXV300V1 universal tuner from Sirius XM (sold separately). It then connects to the 12 pin to DIN cable adaptor included with the HEIGH10.
Doing one on a 2014 Sierra. Everything qorks but the swc. Front buttons still work the dash. Just no back button functionality. Used the THarness and ran the single swc wire to the green swc wire. Pac module swc led flickers when I press them but nothing is working in the screen and the radio won't let me do it manually...any ideas?
The VSS input on the HEIGH10 is so that the vehicle tracks and moves smoothly in the different navigation apps on the radio. It does not prevent any features from working, rather it makes the navigation work better.
worked great for 3 months now its black screen but randomly boots up checked every connection all is tight but still acks up ill be going back to OEM since gm wont be able to help with aftermarket so im out $1500

Great video thank you very much this is exactly what I was looking for… I would like to know if there is a way to use Bluetooth instead of plugging your phone in ?
The HEIGH10 will stream music and allow for Bluetooth calling as well. However, to take full advantage of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and all the related features you must be connected to the USB.
This radio replacement package will work in 2014-18 Sierra and Silverado trucks that do not have the factory Bose audio system. It replaces the original radio entirely, and will retain OnStar functionality. For more detailed fitment or technical questions, please reach out to our tech support team at 727-592-5991 for assistance. Thank you.
I recently installed this on my silverado step by step but my factory backup camera won't work. I plugged everything except the swi cable since my steering wheel doesn't have the control buttons. Does it need to be plugged for the camera to work?
Do you all know how to reset the def fluid on a 2016 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ it says it’s low and keeps saying it’s dropping my speed from 65mph to 55mph but I put 5.3 gallons of diesel exhaust fluid in it and filled it up and that message won’t go away. I need help guys
Unfortunately, this is not something that is related to or able to be fixed by anything in the HEIGH10. This seems to be a common issue with diesel powered GM trucks and there are many others out there that have the same message with factory radios installed. Often times it is a bad NOx sensor, as seen in the video linked below, but it is best to bring your vehicle to a qualified mechanic to have them diagnose the issue. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T4h3B_VMtfA.html

The settings will remain as they are set prior to removing the factory radio. If you wish to be able to modify the settings after the HEIGH10 has been installed you would also need to get the PAC-UP update cable and run a USB cable somewhere you could attach a laptop and modify them with our Vehicle Settings App for the RP5-GM51

If it's the older body style with one of the RPO codes listed it will work. You can call Tech Support at 727-592-5991 M-F 9am-8pm and we can help you determine compatibility.
This video is very exciting until I have to remove one of my cigarette lighters to have the USBs work? There's two USB ports in my console is there a kit to connect those instead? Anybody help me out with that? I want a new radio but I use that cigarette port for charging while the vehicle is off
Unfortunately, the factory USB ports are not compatible with the HEIGH10 radio. You could use the included dual USB port mount and install it in the glovebox or elsewhere by using a step bit to make a hole that it can be mounted in.

Waste of my damn money, can’t even get my speakers to full volume without the radio crashing…. Was really hoping the internal amp was a lot nicer than this. hey stinger, send me a check with half my money back! My stock radio was just as loud.
@@daltonstansberry2010 i know this company kills me that they have a $1000.00 radio or more but didnt think to build one for the guys that bought the high end trucks instead they made it for the stripped down trucks
Over all a great video to show to put it in, i did see alot of spaghetti going on. Dean and Fernando @ 5star would have De-pinned wires and connectors not used and intergraded both the supply( car) to the radio harness and put them together to make one harness and not use the tacky zip ties and use factory style tessa to put in. I realize there is a lot of dead space and the Module interface covers the wires but going the extra mile is just good business. Other than zip ties no issues with Video, but i am sure it works either way
@@Stinger.Solutions Have you updated that in the last 10 months? I just found this video and have a 2015 Silverado LTZ. I would love to be able to install this if you have updated the equipment to replace the Bose system.
So right now, I press and hold the talk button on my steering wheel and then it pulls up Siri on my iPhone. Even if I don’t have it plugged into the usb. Will that feature still work with this?
Hello. Will the kit come with the temperature control knobs shown in the video ? I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 Work truck trim, which does not have the same knobs as the video.
The factory climate control panel from the truck is reused in the kit panel. No climate controls are included. You factory climate control panel would have to have the same overall shape as the ones shown in the guide and video to work in the kit. Some of the center buttons may be different, but the overall size and shape of the panel would have to match up.

I have the 2018 GMC Sierra 1500... So i noticed on the youtube installation, that on the rear camera, no backup lines were retained. Would I need to upgrade the factory camera? Also, I use USB stick in the center console for Media playback (mp3's) will this still work or would I need to use the installed USB's where the lighter was? Also I have a Sirius XM subscription in my truck now, will Sirius work or is there a 3rd party module needed? Basically what is retained.. what is not and what other 3rd party items would I need? Can you hook up a Amazon firestick on the brains via HDMI? I saw a HDMI port there.
If my truck doesn’t come with apple car play from factory if buy this, does it come with that option. And also I’m looking for something that I want to download Netflix and download it movies for the family when traveling.
I have an after market amp and speakers, will this system work well with my set up? I have a phoenix gold 500w amp and phoenix gold speakers. Also I don’t like the idea of losing my CD player 😭
As long as you do not have the factory Bose audio system, it will work for you. Unfortunately, there is no way to retain the factory CD player with an aftermarket radio.
IO3 and IOB factory radio RPO coded vehicles will not have a separate HMI module that needs to be interfaced with. For those trims the camera wiring is in the main radio connector. If you are having trouble with your factory camera, please give our support team a call when you are in the truck and have access to the wiring in the dash and they will be happy to help you get it going. The number is 727-592-5991.
Did the module and nessary cables/harness come with radio?..... I was driving and lost all sounds to everything including on star communication audio door ding, turn signl chime don't know what else to do so radio is next
The RB10GM14H kit comes with the Universal HEIGH10 radio and all required installation accessories. Please keep in mind that the kit is not compatible with Bose equipped vehicles, so if something amplifier related is the cause of your loss of sound, this radio will not work. If it is standard audio, then this will replace the entire factory unit. Hope this helps
My truck has bose speakers, any way for it work with them? Also pretty sure my hmi went out, my screen in blank. Will this radio work without replacing the hmi?
Recently installed into my 2015 Silverado. All works great, except I lost the steering wheel controls. The ten pin t harness is connected correctly from the steering wheel column into the green swc bullet input. I have the module on 4. The module light even blinks when attempting to use the steering wheel controls, but nothing. I’ve taken it apart and put it all back together several times and can’t figure it out. Please help!

I have a question, in the website it says not compatible with Bose equipped system. My truck has the Bose system but Iike this stereo, is there any that can be done to make it work?
This HEIGH10 kit fits the vehicle mentioned. This kit doesn't retain factory satellite radio, rear seat entertainment system, steering wheel control backlight, or factory USB ports. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at (727) 803-0474
It sounds like you disconnected the factory WiFi module in the dash when connecting the radio. That module needs to stay connected and is not part of the radio replacement process. Only disconnect the connections needed to plug the radio replacement interface/harness in, and to not remove or disconnect anything additional.
If you need assistance, please give out support department a call. The number is 727-592-5991 and we are open from 9AM-8PM EST M-F 10AM-5PM EST SAT, excluding holidays
The factory microphone in the vehicle will only work for OnStar. You would either need to use the included external microphone, or the one that is built into the screen of the HEIGH10.
