Install 360° camera + 12.5" monitor + dynamic indicators

@@mercedes-benz2127 can you please say what 360 camera kit you have? what module, name? i bought something that is different and pain in the a$$. how that in reverse you dont have that radar image from the stereo unit? i havve similar and i cand take it off or deactivate it.

Thanks for the comment. This is Birchington near Margate, Kent. I cannot really advise any camera. I did this video while installing the camera I bought at that time. You need to look around because it's been 3 years since then and these thing change and get updated every few month. If you could find the stock 360 camera system that would be the best. But I think it's just very expensive. This camera system works well, but the problem it has is that it shows wide view, but I would prefer the linear image, that is not distorted, like the standard rear view camera from Mercedes.

Hi. Yes, if you attach a cam that is recognisible by this Android, it can record. But it would be consuming resources, and thus slowing down the operating system. So I would better have a separate dash cam. That's what I think. I never tried to use this system for live camera recordings. It has two usb (usb-A) slots and microSD and microSIM slots as well.

Sorry for the late reply. The calibration markings are shown from 47:05 . Basically you draw the 4 lines that are parallel to the sides of the car. Then you draw 4 boxes on each corner of the car. Boxes are 1 meter long and wide. Then you sit in the car and move the calibration points onto the corner of each box.

the bluetooth settings are in the network menu and also in the system menu. I used them for sound, for Insta360, and for other connection. Did not have any problems so far.

About Torque: You go to google play and download the Torque. Then connect the device. Start Torque and it should find the device. If it does not find it, than in Torque you go to settings and choose the device that you have. If Torque cannot find the device that means that this screen's android system does not recognise the bluetooth device.

12:23 - shows installation inside the mirrors. When I bought the camera kit, it came with the bottom housing for the mirrors that had cameras already in them. So you just replace the whole bottom part.

Not sure about that. When you'll be buying the camera, just check the compatibility. They should always tell you if it would fit your model. Speaking of the indicators, I think it can be done as they do them for basically all models. But one always has to check to make sure it fits.

Also not sure about the module name. This was 2.5 year ago, and it was a cheap Chinese 360 camera kit. It works OK now as well. The only thing I had to do since then is to replace the rear camera. What I don't like about it is that it has a wide view which I don't like. I would prefer linear rather than wide. Also, I cannot make the lines work. I mean the ones that show the live path or guide lines where your wheels would go. You are talking about some radar. What do you mean? Is your rear camera does not show when you put into reverse gear? Or something else.

@@mercedes-benz2127 on screen of display, on 12,5" android, i have a picture of the car and signs like spider web (radar lines). It doesnt mater what camera i connect, that image is fixed on the reverse screen. Can i deactivate that somewhere in setings of android unit or it is there because of the sistem instaled?

@@djovidius3545 On the screen, when you go to the settings (the very right one), then Reverse, then you have to choose 360 Panoramic Reverse CVBS. You can also try the different options and see if it works. The very top one - Original Reverse is for the vehicle original reverse camera (if you have one installed).

I did not connect it to anywhere. It's a trigger cable for the external monitor if you have it. Not really that ugly. Yes, the stock system would be better. But if you don't have it, but you need 360 view than this option is not that bad. If you want to install aftermarket original from Merc than it would be fairly expensive. Consider that only one camera is $700 second hand, and you need 4, and then the control unit.
